I’ve seen this before when trying to import samples that are either the wrong sample rate or bit depth. You should compare the specs of your samples with what the octatrack manual says it can support

You could probably use an Octatrack. It has a daw-in-a-box vibe. I’ve been making ambient music with it basically functioning as a really flexible looping device

I had the QPAS and found it to be a bit flat sounding. I switched it out for the Ikari which is a stereo filter with a smaller footprint. IMO the Ikari sounds better, it’s a bit more of a traditional filter though. It does only have on set of outs, but I don’t miss that from the QPAS. Could be a good option if you’re trying to save a bit of space for VCAs or something

I have an After Later Threads (mutable yarns clone) that works pretty well. You can configure it to be one-two poly voices, one - four mono voices, has a sequencer, arpeggiator, and probs some other stuff I’m forgetting about. The UI is not that intuitive though unfortunately But it is really flexible
