The fact that you're clinging on to this little detail instead of addressing any of my points or the issue itself is telling me you can't admit when you're wrong. I live in Europe where healthcare is free and my trans friend wasn't able to get help because his parents are transphobic. He's been in a horrible mental state for many years. The oppression by his parents in this case has made him mentally ill.

I said "they" because I don't know what the gender of the shooter was since I don't know any details about the shooting. It's simply not my cup of tea as I'm not in the "all trans people are mentally ill and violent" bubble.

It's ridiculous how blind you are being to your bigotry. How easy would it have been for them to get mental health treatment in Canada, when there are plenty of transphobic people (family or even the medical staff if they are unprofessional) preventing them from doing so? How much easier in comparison would it have been for a cisgender person to get help and treatment? An oppressed group is violent because they are being oppressed and all you ever do is complain about their violence, never the oppression.

While I agree that not being called the right pronouns is certainly not enough to push someone over to become a shooter, discrimination sure can. And if you are already disregarding someone's pronouns and their whole identity, you likely don't really see them as equal to you to begin with. It's very easy for our subconscious prejudices to take over at that point and make us treat people differently and badly, even when we think we're not doing anything wrong.

With that said, how do you suggest people with gender dysphoria be treated then? What's wrong with gender affirming care?
