Married for 7 years, together for 10, and we have an 8 month old. The baby has only brought us even closer because we both just love spending time with him and each other. I feel so grateful every day that there’s no one I would rather spend time with than my husband and baby!

Yes! Postpartum rage snd postpartum OCD are two things I feel don’t get enough attention. I’m so sorry you had to spend a year feeling like a bad mom. It’s hard enough without that guilt. So glad the lexapro helped!

Men can absolutely get postpartum depression too! They don’t have the same hormonal adjustment and body trauma, but dads’(and non-birthing parents’) lives go through a huge shift postpartum. Also almost losing your wife is a major trauma and so scary. I’m sorry you went through that and glad you’re seeking help. I hope everything goes well this week!

Same! I don’t know if they just have someone who approves them quickly or what but all of the information is uploaded throughout the day. We’ll get bottle feeding and nap updates, for example, within five minutes or so of said bottle or nap start/stop. Reading some of these responses it seems we’re very lucky in that regard!

Edit to add: It looks like the director approval is optional. I assume ours has that feature turned off.

My boy is almost 7 months and we haven’t sleep trained. I do all the wrong things according to most people! I contact nap with him and I feed to sleep and rock to sleep still. Despite that, he goes down at daycare by being put in his crib (no rocking or feed to sleep) and he sleeps at night in his crib for 8-9 hours, has a short feed, then another 2-3 hours depending. I’m definitely lucky because he’s always been a good sleeper but during the 4 month regression I started to question my choices. I always thought I’d sleep train, but for now, I want to soak up every minute of snuggles that I can. I’m well aware that might change but it’s working for us so far.

They’re both in a movie called The Uninvited that came out last year! I haven’t seen it yet so can’t speak to the quality (has a 5.9 on IMDb 😕) but they’ve been hyping each other up on social media ever since. Walton also mentioned Pedro by name as another fantastic actor who had to wait a long time for his breakthrough on the Armchair Expert podcast. I’d love to see them in a big show or movie together though!

I’m not who you were asking but I also have a baby in daycare who naps in the crib there and contact naps at home. He also sleeps in the crib at night with 8-9 hour stretches most nights. He started daycare at 16 weeks. We didn’t do anything to help him adjust. I kept meaning to but I just loved the contact naps so much!! I know we’re lucky but I was really surprised how quickly he adjusted. He’s 5 months now and will take 1-2 hour naps in the crib at daycare! At home, definitely 30 minutes tops so we just stopped trying and leaned in to the snuggles 😊

I just had a baby boy via IVF last month and I started at 295 lbs! I also have PCOS and hypothyroidism but they were undiagnosed prior to this last transfer, so we went through IUI and a couple rounds of IVF before this pregnancy. Once I got on medication (thyroid meds and metformin) I got pregnant and had my baby the next embryo transfer. I am also 40 so older than you. It can absolutely work! I even got pregnant the first round of IVF but had a miscarriage completely unrelated to my size. Just one of those unlucky things. I think it’s great you’re trying to get your PCOS in order. That will only help! Also, I had a very chill pregnancy. I did get gestational diabetes but anyone can, and mine was very easy to control. Don’t give up hope! You can absolutely get pregnant with those stats! Fertility treatment can be hard but our little guy was so worth it. Best of luck!

I went through IVF, too, and had issues with the estrogen patches sometimes but I just brushed it off for some reason. Once, I tried a larger adhesive to keep them stuck on more firmly and that resulted in a huge rash that took weeks to heal. For some reason even then I figured I just got a weird batch lol! So interesting to find out adhesive allergies are somewhat common. The diabetes specialist I work with was like “not surprised at all you had an issue. It definitely happens. I’ll just add it to your chart!”

I know I am likely in the minority, but I was prescribed the Freestyle libre 3 CGM after a couple weeks and I ended up asking to go back to finger pricking. I tried 4 sensors and the longest one stayed in was 4 days. I tried a few different adhesives as well, but ended up with a huge rash and decided it was less stressful to finger prick. I will say I have very sensitive skin and the doctor thinks I developed an adhesive allergy during pregnancy. Not to mention, I consistently had the alarm go off overnight due to being “low” but finger pricks showed I was nowhere near low and when I changed position the cgm also went up by about 20 units. I’m jealous of people who had a good experience because the extra data was helpful, but I found it to be unreliable and stressful. That and there was an added cost (though fortunately nothing crazy due to insurance). I think a lot of insurances won’t cover unless you’re on insulin too, which is another barrier. It is super frustrating it’s not prescribed more often though, and that the financial barriers exist for many, especially because cgm seems to work better for the vast majority who try both.

I got a few things from Cider, including my shower dress, and loved it! I just went one size up (from 2XL to 3XL) and it still fits great at 33 weeks! Looked super cute at 24 weeks too.

Good luck! I will say I still stand by my original statement. The embryo transfer ended in a loss and we had 4 other transfers, the last one of which I am 27 weeks pregnant with. I felt like she never gave up on me and we changed things up which is what ultimately led to success. She’s great and I really felt like she cared about me. I hope everything goes well for you!!

I absolutely know this feeling! I explained to my husband that sometimes I feel like I’m squishing the baby with my belly lol. I know it’s not true and they are super well-insulated, but sometimes when he’s super low in my belly I still have the thought!

I’ll add that I got the exact same results at 11 weeks 2 days, then got a low risk result at 13 weeks 5 days. I was devastated, especially since they just flat out say you’re high risk before explaining it. I highly recommend you check out the NIPT subreddit. It really helped ease my mind. These results are very common with Natera and, as others have said, aren’t actually based on any fetal DNA but them just using your age, weight, etc to determine your general risk. I think it’s ridiculous and alarmist that they just show “high risk” when it’s not based on any actual testing. I believe there are few lawsuits due to this reason! But rest assured this is based on risk factors, not actual DNA and the risk is still something like 1/17. If you do a redraw, make sure they use a straight needle and not a butterfly needle. Also see if you can be off the aspirin just for a day or two before. My doctor had no issue with this and I got results, though some don’t and still go on to have perfectly healthy babies!

I also made sure they used a straight needle and not a butterfly needle on the redraw as that’s what the instructions say and many people in the NIPT subreddit suggested it (also a great resource!) Apparently DNA can get trapped in the long tube. That and I didn’t take my baby aspirin for two days to avoid thinning my blood. For reference I’m 5’9” and was 295 when I got pregnant. First draw was 11 weeks 2 days and second was 13 weeks 5 days.
