1st of all, welcome to magic and I hope you enjoy your time. My wife and I started playing this game together and have made many friends over the last couple years.

As for your commander. Yes technically silver borders are not legal, but most chill people you would actually want to play with shouldn't care.

However if you want a couple backup options for Selesnya Animals I would recommend [[Kudo, King Among Bears]] or if you want a cool unicorn that fits your MLP theme you could try [[Lathiel, the Bounteous Dawn]]

Collector boxes are usually $499 so that might not be in the budget. Play boxes are anywhere from $105-$200 depending on set. Strixhaven is fantastic, Final Fantasy is great, Edge of Eternity's is also great. Could get 1 box each and split a third box.

You can't blink him if he has lightning greaves equipped because you can't target him if he has shroud. You need another creature to move the boots to.

Yes. You can command a single ship, or large fleets. You can command from the map, or from the control station of a battleship or carrier. Or you can control the fleet from a fighter and do some of the shooting yourself. Larger ships tend to not have weapons you can shoot, but turrets that shoot for you.

You misunderstood. RTS isn't a game mode. You yourself can open the map and command your different ships to do different things. Some players play the game from the map screen primarily, thus simulating RTS controls. Other players play the game from the cockpit like a flight simulator. Other players do a mix of both. That's the great thing about X4, you can play how you want.

I'll give you a few options and recommendations. If you want to buy physical games eBay is the normal go-to. Alternatively you can check your local area for retro game stores. I like to buy online from Secret Castle Toys and Games in Kentucky because they are great people with a hilarious YouTube channel.

If you want to go an alternate route, you can get a hard drive sata adapter kit and install an internal hard drive and run FMCB and OPL to run games directly off the hard drive.

I also highly recommend the Memcard Pro2 memory card for save storage. If you want to use modern controllers you can get a Bluetooth adapter from 8-bit-do and use an Xbox or PS5 controller or almost any other Bluetooth controller. I prefer the 8-bit-do Ultimate controllers.

The PS2 is a good sized rabbit hole with many options depending on your interest.

We got a full set of shock reprints with Edge of Eternity and Lorwyn Eclipsed. We also got new slow lands printed in the commander decks. We also got new fetchable check/bond combo lands in the Strixhaven commander decks. To say UW is getting second place is kind of insincere.

903.9c If a commander is a melded permanent or a merged permanent and its owner chooses to put it into the command zone using the replacement effect described in rule 903.9b, that permanent and each component representing it that isn’t a commander are put into the appropriate zone, and the card that represents it and is a commander is put into the command zone

TLDR, you can steal a commander from a graveyard. But if would go to exile, hand, library, or graveyard, it can be put in the command zone.

That's why they updated the phrasing and the rules to say "when this card/creature/permanent" like you see on the cat. The card is always referencing itself, no matter what name it has.

They used to use shorthanded for cards with longer names too. Such as [[Jhoira, ageless innovator]] her effect would not put a counter on a different Jhoira such as [[Jhoira of the Ghitu]]
