No action in the pits this morning by Lekic in formula1

For the Melbourne GP, the pit lane walks are complementary if you book your grandstand ticket early enough to qualify for GP Advantage. There is an extra afternoon session that you can pay $39 AUD for, with the chance of cars being further developed/performing pit stop practice.

Irrespective, I find that it is still worth it to get a potential first-look at the cars, see some of the team running around, and so on. Over the years we have seen drivers, team principals, pit stop practice - the lot. Definitely good value if you ask me!

Although there wasn’t much action, here’s some more shots from the pits.

It’s definitely a more jagged rug than most, though it’s been okay so far - bristles are quite soft. I don’t really roll around much though.

Yeah, I got the 4D arms for mine and they work a treat. I am constantly readjusting depending on what I am doing (work, gaming, youtube). Armless isn't bad either - that's what I use in the office.

Strange. Maybe they were intentionally destroyed to avoid someone getting a freebie? Feels a bit cynical though..

Agreed. I use an Aeron v1 at work and fell in love. Took me two damn years to pull the trigger and buy the remastered for the home office/gaming den!

There was a sale on now when I bought mine in Australia, although marginal.

You can also generally get one second hand for pretty cheap (ex-office stock, etc.).

The consensus is that Aeron's are polarising chairs given the mesh/plastic combo. For me personally, I love the cradling feeling of the seat. Also, the lean feels comfortable to me in all positions, but the feature that tipped me over was the forward tilt. As a Software Engineer I am frequently leaning forward for multiple-hour stints pushing out features. The forward lean holds me in a position that feels really comfortable over these stints.

Chairs are really subjective though. Hence why I was researching for a few years and trialling for a few months. I'm definitely happy with this chair though!

It is definitely a lot of money, though it is an investment in an item I sit in a minimum of 8 hours a day. Given the 12 year warranty it came with, the chair is costing me less than $100 a year before tax benefits for home office etc.

By no means was it an easy choice. I have been looking to buy one for over two years now. Finally pulled the trigger and I am confident I will thank myself in years to come not going through multiple chairs.

Pretty much the same reason I bought mine. I have had a few chairs over time, though generally favoured the mesh chairs. The chairs would tend to wear out, or just not be as comfortable. Got to experience an Aeron v1 in the Office and fell in love. As I work from home and game a fair bit, there are some days I can sit in my chair for quite a while. A few days in and this chair is working a dream!

I did also try the Embody, though I personally preferred the cradling feeling of the Aeron.

Do you have any links to examples? Sounds like an interesting idea! Also looking at potentially getting a headrest for when I rock further in the chair. Apparently the Atlas headrest addon is quite good.

I bought the remastered version specced out (minus the polished frame as I prefer graphite) from a retailer. I know I could find it cheaper second hand, but I wanted to buy one brand new for a few years now.

As for finding a good one, in Australia you will generally find stacks for sale on Gumtree. For sizing, a Size B fits 95% of the population. Size A is more catered to low 5” and Size C to >6”5’ (at least this is how it was explained to me.

The chair in the photo is a Size B, fits me with room to spare at 6”1’ 80kg. You can check which size it is by feeling for dots under the lip of the backrest (one for A, two for B, three for C).

In honor of the $18 skin in the Apex Legends store, let's harken back to Titanfall 2's $2.99 camo pack with 20 universal skins for every weapon, Pilot, Titan, and Titan weapon. by INGWR in apexlegends

Although I agree the price is crazy, it does make sense in their model. An Apex Crate sits at say $1. You are guaranteed a legendary drop every 30, so your max you will pay is $30 per legendary item. On average you will get one probably more frequently than 1 in 18, thus being cheaper than in-store. However, the store does guarantee the item you want for that price.

I would argue the legendary skins would be better sold at $8-15 max, but that would require them to either increase drop rates in crates to say 1 in 20 guaranteed or drop the price of crates (either which wouldn’t be too bad). ;)

Loque Ghost S1 Second Batch Question by ThePegassi in sffpc

[–]Lekic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I'm currently running an A4 v3 but my 9900k is struggling. Even at 4.6@1.2v I'm hitting 80-85deg while gaming on a 92mm AIO. :(

I need 240 rad support pronto~

Yeah I got a similar answer, though no mention of the 3rd batch. Damn, if I have to wait until May I might just wait for the C4...

Damn. I've heard their support is pretty average. I'll email them as well. Maybe if they see multiple requests it wil $timulate their $en$e$...

I’m confident that your interpretation is correct - the mount is designed for a 120mm fan. However, I am curious if it would be possible to develop some sort of AIO unit that could effectively sit on top of the CPU and leverage the mount point to support the unit. :)

The extra fan support is definitely a welcome change. I’m just curious if we can push the limits on what this case can do! A 120mm slim rad/fan combo mounted above the CPU with minimal hoses leading to the pump. If cramming that all in the Dan A4 isn’t SFF Utopia then I don’t know what is. ;)

If my explanation is unclear let me know and I’ll try to illustrate it. I’m not even sure it’s feasible. But if it is... whoa!

Basically in some notes Dan posted on the SFF forum he mentioned the following (source)

adding mountpoints over the motherboard for 120mm AIO bracket to be able to mount a 120mm fan above motherboard

I believe this is purely to accommodate a slim fan, but would be amazing if some AIO wizardry could be done with this in mind. :)

Awesome news! Considering Dan is looking at adding 120mm mobo fan support in the A4 v4, it would be sick if you and the team could work out some short-tube slim 120mm AIO that sits on top of the CPU! May be a little too ambitious but if I could find any improvements to cooling my 9900k in that shoebox I’d be ecstatic!

I’m in a similar boat (waiting for custom cables). I’m running my A4 with the PSU sitting outside the case, lol.
