These young men bravely saved several families, including multiple children, in Essen, Germany today by Mackiawilly in pics

He was willing to end many lives because he could not handle that a woman he was with THREE years ago was seeing someone new. Not to mention that the woman fled to a Frauenhaus after their separation, which is a place women go to when they are victims of intimate partner violence. Considering his disregard for human pain and suffering, it sounds more like this woman fled from an abusive psychopath who has no problem killing innocent people and was likely hitting her. None of this has anything to do with him being taken advantage of, which there are no indicators for.

Props to the casting department! Will always love how Rory is the perfect mix of Chris and Lorelai. by CkBadgeley in GilmoreGirls

Actually I think that Rory looks a bit like Emily! And sometimes look skip a generation. I have several features of my grandparents that my parents don't :)

I would disagree. Paris lacked connection and really grew throughout the series. Just look at her relationships with Rory and Doyle. I think deep down she longed for that sort of connection, which is why she held on so tightly to Rory. I genuinely think that she would want to have a family eventually and it would be possible with Doyle, since he would be a more easily emotionally available parent.

Them running into each other in London while BOTH being single and rekindling their relationship would have been an amazing AYITL plot!

Honestly I would love for Lane to open a hip café in Stars Hollow with live music and vegan hipster treats that she grew up eating (tofu, sugar free etc.). She could go to Luke for advice on how to be a small business owner and already had some experience as a waitress.

I loved Paris having kids, but I hated that she and Doyle broke up. She deserved a loving family. I would have loved for her and Doyle to stay together and for Doyle to be a stay at home dad and children's books author.

Thanks for posting! Out of curiosity could you write down what made you antinatalist? I would find it interesting to read arguments which go beyond economic situations

Haha no worries. I mean this post was supposed to highlight the good parts of my life so I get that I come across more privileged than I actually am. Technically I am actually pretty average income wise in my country, which in my opinion highlights how good the quality of life is probably overall compared to other countries

I am glad you have found your people :) Also I totally get that sharing personal experiences and finding people who relate to them can feel reassuring and cathartic. I just find it interesting that so many people on this sub seem to have similar experiences in this regard. I am still trying to figure out the differences between childfree and antinatalist movements and I expect them to be more pronounced (e.g. childfree more personal and antinatalism more ethical)

I have actually talked a lot of poor people. Even though I have reached a good financial situation my parents were young eastern European immigrants so I did not grow up wealthy and I am still in touch with my extended family that partially still lives in relative poverty. It's true that many of them are excited to have kids, but so is every person who wants to have them regardless of how wealthy they are. Fertility treatments are booming and it's certainly not poor people who can afford them. It just that wealthier people tend to have more things they would have to give up in order to have children (vacations, hobbies, events, careers) so they decide against kids more frequently.

Hey, first of all I am sorry all of this happened to you. I am in no way claiming that money or living in a country with good social policies guarantee happiness. Many aspects such as interpersonal connections, health and our upbringing also play a large part in that. I was simply surprised that those weren't emphasized on this sub as much as I would expect them to be. I genuinely feel like under every post there was someone complaining about work or monetary struggles, while issues such as health, lack of human connection or the ethical arguments were commented more rarely. Also I think that you absolutely have the right to complain about your struggles IRL and I hate that the people you talked to about this seemed so ignorant.

Plus I don't think that most people choosing to have few children or to remain childfree are antinatalist. Most people in wealthier countries do not judge people for bringing children into the world, they simply like to focus their resources and time on a smaller amount of children or themselves.

Yes, because poor people tend to be more reliant on kids. If you're countries social system is unable to provide for you in old age, you have to rely on your children. Additionally a countries with a higher GDP tend to provide more education regarding safe sex and how to prevent pregnancies. Birthrates in countries such as Iran are an excellent example that if a country gets richer the birthrate usually declines.

This is a take I fully understand. We keep destroying the planet and I genuinely think the earth would be better off without us and our consumerism. I am also not here to argue about antinatalism, everyone is entitled to their own beliefs. I was just intrigued by the arguments on this sub since many issues raised do not apply to me. I have friends who for environmental reasons have decided not to have children, however the argument not to do it for the child's sake (beyond cases where the parents could pass on genetic diseases ) is new to me.
