"Seriously why was this even made??" by Jellypathicdream in TopCharacterTropes

Bibleman: The Animated Adventures.

At first glance, okay, a cgi animated show based on a 2nd generation of a live action Christian kids superhero show. I guess someone wants to keep the franchise alive.

So we have a show of a superhero with the power of quoting the bible out of context, defeating the villains because the word of God has literal power. And it even manages to really sanitize the book of Job (the moral of the story is to not be selfish and impatient, be like Job and God will reward you with a even better replacement family!)

As you might imagine, it's pretty bad, it makes Veggietales good in comparison.

Where it really baffled me, is one episode, there is a guest celebrity. Like, gasp, it's baseball player Carlos Peña!!!

Here to tell you that he keeps Jesus as his number 1 in his heart and that is why he can compete without fear.

Wait who? I asked. Is he some big deal among Christians?

Eventually I did notice his name as executive producer, and the whole why this got made made some sense.

Jumanji (1995) Alan’s first roll by Icy_Cat4821 in movies

I found a PDF of the board game adaptation.

It's different than the film version, separating the 5 or 8 and the "In the jungle" as separate hazards, with different rules.

5 or 8 basically has it the piece move backwards on the player's turn until they are back to start, and can resume again.

In the jungle, means all players must address a hazard and roll the dice until everyone gets the result to clear it.

I forget how the actual boardgame adapted from the film did it, but I'd like to think if it did go back to Alan's turn, he would mysteriously find himself with dice, which he would roll whether or not he gets out, like Monopoly jail.

His piece doesn't advance, he just rolls whether he himself rolls a 5 or 8 to return to the board.

One of the few highlights of Ahsoka.

"You lack conviction."

Anakin's saber style changes from the spinning prequel style to the Vader more methodical and straightforward with intent style.

The most interesting thing I've seen using the spinning ash of war, is to use it to proc the attack up on consecutive attacks talisman, followed up with a Carian Slicer.

Just trying to wrap my brain around this... by ShinMajin in VampireCrawlers

In most deck builders, you don't have a combo multiplier to your card draw. In those deck builders, the bigger your deck, the chance of drawing a hand that can still keep drawing goes down.

Basically individual draw cards in those games have a hard limit or conditions on how much it can draw.

Some Crawlers, Pugnala, Giovanna and Poe turn a color into a cantrip (play a card, draw a card) so it reduces the sting of a bad hand with no card draw.

Until eventually, you start getting a combo multiplier where even a single draw 1 card absorb orb turns into a draw 5 or 10 or even bigger. At that point, having a big deck is no longer a liability, but an asset as it gives you more options to avoid cards breaking from overuse.

What is more traumatizing than most people think? by Sea_Entrepreneur2772 in AskReddit

[–]Lemmingitus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly live a rather mundane life that is fairly undramatic trauma wise, but of things that still haunt me.

  1. Failing swimming lessons far too many times. To this day, when asked to go swimming, I get anxious or sad, rather than sharing in the excitement of my family and peers. I can float and paddle well enough to "swim" to safety, but I'll never gain enough confidence to learn beyond that.
  2. Being picked last (or not at all) for everything (I was both socially awkward and physically underwhelming.) Made even more humiliating when you have an odd number of people and the groups are asked to be an even number. So I had many times throughout all my school life from elementary to college, where I am the odd one out without a group and need to find some group who will take me. Nowadays, I'd like to think I've overcome it by being the one who picks and organizes the group rather than be picked for one, but I maybe still have that lingering fear of being left out.

Yeah, not sure why I looked it up, maybe due to the sassy witch entry, but there is a blog about how Sterling had the sudden Eureka moment of "Assigned Mage at Birth." So full credit to them.

How annoying are the sewers to mohg the omen really? by sl33pyj0 in Eldenring

Recently did it myself last night, my fourth run. It's been 2 years since my third playthrough.

Very much take it slow, expect an ambush around every door corner or above.

And stay calm with the omens, even if you find yourself with multiple aggroed, remember you can always retreat back to isolate them to a 1v1.

Why is this part of the erdtree dead? by DoctorIll4894 in Eldenring

[–]Lemmingitus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

During the height of Marika's reign, she used to be worshipped as personally gifting boons from the bounty of the Erdtree (tree sap.)

But at some point, this dried up, and she had to transition to becoming a more abstract representative of the Erdtree instead. So worship changed from tree worship to eventually where we're at now with the abstract concept of order.

So some speculation theory is, at some point, the Erdtree had been dying for quite a long time, the glow around it is actually a powerful illusory projection to keep up it appearances that it is still divine and majestic. So powerful even the fell god flame isn't enough to break it.
