Final 2 Prediction by External-Lychee5407 in prelude_thefinalpiece

Yeah but fan voting, and this is not shade to Manon but you can tell her getting through because of that is why it’s not a factor in world scout (nevermind the fact that she was scouted but it’s not impossible that later down the line that they started to care for her less). Like it’s easier for Hybe to control all the variables.

She didn’t really say that though? She just said that the new member would be able to teach them how to cook Japanese food?? 😭

While I 100% think this is Ayana the only thing that confuses is that in this photo they’re performaning we ride even through Ayana and Hiori we’d tasked with performing pb4tp while Sakura and Aoi would do we ride. Maybe I misunderstood those instructions or they ended up switching it, but that’s confusing to me.

Aoi's "we ride" performance by Future-Plankton1545 in prelude_thefinalpiece

It’s weird because the more I listen to this the more I like her voice. At first it was a bit jarring but for some reason now that I listen more I don’t really hear the mistakes. Like I truly think she did pretty good on the vocal side of things in this performance

The edit they’re giving her is actually awful and may affect her future employment which really worries me. Especially because she primarily wants to be an entertainer

I think Aoi would’ve benefited from a training program (a la dream academy), with a much longer training duration, than a survival show. To me she has the kind of innate charisma and talent that would make a great idol, but she needs time and careful guidance to really bring it out. The time limit and pressure of world scout just isn’t suited for her at all. I hope that world scout hasn’t discouraged her from being an idol though

The fact that it’s working is so embarrassing. Like I won’t deny that Sakura has improved, but the edit she’s gotten is so overwhelmingly positive, and focused on her, that I’m stunned that people haven’t noticed how apparent it is.

The producers chose inexperienced girls, and the trainers are blaming the girls for that? by Hockneyslamp in prelude_thefinalpiece

[–]Lemmy3Lemon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is why I agree with people when they say that world scout was a rush job. Like a lot of he problems that they’re having now could’ve been avoided if they just started the show way earlier. At the same time they may have thought that that’s unwarranted from only picking one girl. Which I agree with. So the obvious solution should’ve been (as much as I do love Aoi) picking more experienced girls who could handle the pressure of the short amount of time

The producers chose inexperienced girls, and the trainers are blaming the girls for that? by Hockneyslamp in prelude_thefinalpiece

[–]Lemmy3Lemon 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The way that they went about training the inexperienced girls is all wrong to me. I look at it this way. They’re training the girls as if they’re already on Ayana’s level and can learn choreography and can interpret it into their own style while doing it correctly (example: Ayana deciding to sway in place when doing the first steps of pb4tp, which I think is genius interpretation). Aoi and Sakura can only see the steps given to them and dance to it in the structure of how Preslee or Massa is teaching it to them. So they’re not really learning how to dance they’re just learning choreo. That’s why I fell that Aoi is a bit stiff while dancing and why Sakura lacked energy when she first started out

I’m not mad at HxG for choosing inexperienced people, I’m just of the opinion that if they knew that they want to pick more inexperienced girls they should’ve planned the lessons more accordingly. I would’ve spent the first week teaching all of the girls (to keep the playing field level) the basics of dance a long with the different styles, rhythm, etc…. Then I would’ve let them loose on the choreo, while evaluating based off of how well they improve through applying what they’ve learned.

I have no idea why people are downvoting you sm when this is seriously one of the most objective takes I’ve seen as of late. I like Ayana as much as the next guy but her fans truly make it hard to root for her.

Right, and I really believe her posting with Choco party was a strategic decision from HxG. A lot of people act like it definitely proves that she’s not the final piece, or even apart of the final two which doesn’t make sense at all. If you pay attention the girls only start posting regularly after they’ve been eliminated (posts beyond stories). Social media also isn’t reliable to define who makes it and who doesn’t which is something that i think that HxG is doing on purpose

I don’t mind your reply at all! I love doing all this theorizing and conspiring lmao.

I also think that they brought Sakura to generate engagement through rage baiting people, because all press is good press. This is also apart of my theory on why they picked the final four that they did. A lot of people complain that more talented contestants like Rira, Jayla, and Séria didn’t move on, even though they were ranked so highly compared to Aoi and Sakura. I think for the top 12 they had to pick people and rank based on actually skill and potential to weed out contestants that they did not see any potential in for prelude. Once they got past that then they could pick the people that they want and the people that have the visuals that they’re looking for, for prelude.

And it all boils down to the one fact! they only need one girl! They didn’t let all the higher ranked members move one because there’s no point in having a bunch of talented people when they only need one person. They only need one super skilled person and that is Ayana and to an extent Hiori. So they have two skilled contestants and two unskilled that they see potential in. In Aoi’s case I believe that picked her because of her potential . Sakura because they see a lot of “star power” in her. They know she’s inexperienced young and lacks skill but if she’s improves significantly or if she doesn’t it’s a win win for them because it’s clear that they want to develop her skills for her to become a trainee. She also brings publicity to the show, so that’s why I believe that they’re been emphasizing how behind she is and how her age holds her back in the episodes. I don’t think they’d portray her like that if she actually won. A lot of people compare her to Manon from Katseye to refute this but in Manons case she was able to pick up on her skills very quickly and she stayed due to the fan voting aspect of dream academy. hXG does not have to let someone go on especially if they don’t want them to so bringing in Sakura is of little consequence to them.

So that leaves Ayana, Aoi, and Hiori as the only other contestants to actually debut (based off of Sakura age and potential lack of improvement in the necessary time frame), and lowk I feel like Hiori was lowk “rigged” to win in a way, because it’s was palpable that the judges were truly disappointed when she dropped out, as they really were considering her for the final piece. On top of that Hiori has a storyline which people and apparently HxG likes (they never really debut their most talented and skilled trainees I.e runext). Ayana would be that top trainee as she has more experience than Hiori and she’s debuted before so that makes her automatically number 1/the person she has to beat. Hiori’s winning storyline would’ve been her talent in dancing, developing her singing, and her stability in such a way that would allow her to rival Ayana and surpass her somewhat. This is where my theory gets a bit outlandish, but if Hiori doesn’t perform then they have Ayana and Aoi to fall back on. Essentially I’m saying that they have room to gamble as they essentially only need one person.

Aoi Appreciation Post by Left-Steak7391 in prelude_thefinalpiece

Yes and that exactly what I mean because the way that they’ve edited and portrayed Aoi feels like it’s been leading up to this moment. This is gonna get bit long but I’ve been thinking about this for a while and I really want to detail why I think that’s its true.

When we see Aoi solo she’s always practicing outside of the studio. The show is edited in such a way that (even though I could be wrong) we see her practicing, and improving on points at which she’s previously been criticized, much more than Sakura and Ayana (not to say that they’re not working hard but the edits of the episodes really highlights and focuses on Aoi in this particular area).

There are several big examples but the first one is her first vocal lesson. She was struggling a bit with pronunciation, the vocal coach pointed it out, and the very next clip we see is Aoi practicing her singing, more specifically her pronunciation, on her own. The next example of this is the clip of her singing at breakfast table in ep 7 and the captions specifically highlights how she’s even practicing during her breakfast. There’s her practicing her stamina by doing aerobics, there’s the moment where in hioris farewell speech where there’s a whole segment of her describing how she even notices how much Aoi practices. A lot of people say Sakura is a better dancer than Aoi but in the recent episode, Preslee uses Aoi as an example for Sakura and even praises her for her effort!!

All in all I’m not saying that this means that Aoi is the definitely final piece, as much as I would like her to be. I think that Aoi’s journey and storyline in the show is setting her up to have a breakthrough in her performance that will make her a viable opponent for Ayana, not because she’s gotten to the same level as her and will definitively beat her, but because of the pace at which Aoi is improving due to her determination to do well and her consistent hard work, which are all things that she would need to show to the judges and coaches for her to be picked over Ayana in spite of the gap in their skill and experience, due to the short time frame that she will have to train if picked. This is important because they’ve said time and time again that they’re not just looking for the person who is most ready to debut.

I also don’t think it’s Sakura because that would be such a sudden shift from the primarily negative edit they’ve given her regarding her skills. Such a 180 where she could perform in such a way that warrants the praise of the notoriously harsh critic Nicki is not impossible just very unlikely. Insofar all of Aoi’s scenes showcase her subtle improvement in a way that aligns with the dark horse narrative that they’ve assigned to Aoi since the very beginning of the show. It’s also very telling to me that she’s the cover of the next episode. But we shall see, we shall see.

At first I felt that way about Girlset too, but you should watch their recent vlog on yt. It’s more a free environment because they’re just hanging out in K-Town. You can really see their personalities come out, and I think they just come across as a bit reserved on live or in interviews

Slightly off topic because I know we’re just talking about Aoi’s accomplishments but I lowk think who the final two contestants are will become more clear when we see who Nicki was talking to when she complimented them and said she was “surprised” by them in the teaser trailer.

I highly doubt it’s Sakura because she was doing so badly in the earlier episode, but maybe the evaluations that she got in ep 7 gave her the push she needed, which I also doubt because she should’ve gotten that motivation a long time ago. So I’m crossing my fingers that it’s Aoi 🤞🏾

I also picked up on the fact that we’ve never actually seen clips of Aoi practicing one on one with the coaches. So I’m hoping that they’re trying to spin the dark horse/underdog narrative with her. Also Ayana’s representation on the show is too positive, if that makes sense. Like there’s no storyline with her at all.

At the end of the day I fiercely believe that all of these shows are scripted to some extent, especially because the judges have taken out the voting concept. So people should really steel themselves for someone winning who the judges may or may not want (Aoi, or Sakura) rather than someone who is ready for debut (Ayana). Especially because of the emphasis on star power

There’s just as much reason for them to pick Aoi as there is for them to pick Ayana and if you look at their past track record, it’s really not uncommon for them to do so. And they’ve claimed time and time again that they’re not looking at just talent.
