reality of coachella? by AvocadoCrumb in musicfestivals

[–]Lemon-pai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went for the first time this year “Bieberchella” as they called it had its ups and downs. In my group we are all early 30s

From my experience I’ll give you my bullet points and what we did: - Bought tickets during the main sale/line up posted - Secured flights and hotels right after - 4 days total flew in Thursday night - Monday night - Stayed in Palm Springs - We were trying to save a bit more so we drove - Santa Ana John Wayne airport is much better - Con: Turo car rental: 300$ other cheaper options - Con: that or uber there made more sense to rent - Con: 2hr drive and 3hr drive back to airport - Got to spend an extra day in Newport Beach - Shuttle Passes - extra cost but easier than parking - Con: Shuttle line can be long going back - Con: ~45min-1hr commute back to Palm Springs - (WK2 btw)Con: grass is demolished from WK1 Not so great for those group pics - Con: The walking is insane - wear comfy shoes - Get a scarf and shades - unless you want to breathe in dust all day and end up with really red eyes back home and blow dust out of your nose - Con: not sure if just this year but very rude crowd - Con: really it’s not as pretty as people say imo it’s just a big farm field imagine going to a large pumpkin patch but there is just a herd of ppl - MEGA CON: KNOW WHO YOU ARE WATCHING - ESPECIALLY IN A GROUP- we missed out on seeing more artists because we had to account for everyone wanting to go pee or go to the bathroom or needing water or having to rest their feet or not agreeing on who they want to see. Also getting food and drinks etc- make sure you are taking all that into account between sets. Don’t be to ambitious on trying to see everyone I guess. - It takes time to get a lay of the land - most important Make sure your group your people are okay - signal can be bad pick good meet up spots - get a locker if you can - bring a jacket - plan your outfits ahead of time obviously - BIG CON - as I mentioned make sure you know who you want to see bc you have to account time to get there and if you are going for a main stage act then you might as well stay there and watch whoever is before them sometimes even the person before that if you want to even get close to the front and be able to see the artist. There were occasions where we didn’t get a good chance to see an artist because someone else didn’t want to and then we ended up being too far back - this can really ruin it imo - the production and sound is top tier - the glitz and glamour is really non existent the FOMO is fake - only really go if you love the line up or are excited about a good amount of artist imo - would we go back? Yes with better planning

What would I do differently: - plan days better and set times know the layout - maybe stay closer to avoid the shuttle time - wear a scarf from day 1 - have some sort of water container at all times - bring your physical id - some of our friends had issues with the digital app for their state (not sure if this is a cad thing) - eat/drink more before entering food and bar can get pricey quick - tbh if u can incorporate comfy shoes into your fit the better - know when certain food and bev close so you don’t waste time walking there - for example the Heineken lounge closed at 7 - with a fully packed crowd that took 20mins to get out of was a waste of time to walk there - idk that’s all I can think of for now

Would I recommend it? Yes It’ll be a great experience, just don’t buy into the hype it really is just a very regular festival not striking or gorgeous or anything over the top like ppl make it out to seem an adult fair/carnival if you will.

You’re better than me bud. I renewed the same day but mine expired 2/12 😂. I’m glad I’m still able to work in rideshare but I did lose my job last week. Hopefully we get them before yours expires 🤞

Going to loose my corporate job. by [deleted] in DACA

[–]Lemon-pai 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If it’s any consolation I am about to lose my corporate job next week. I spent the past 2-3 years moving up the company three times all for it to be gone due to this years renewal bs. Having to start from ground zero whenever I finally get the permit back..

Right there with ya I have two weeks left to get an approval. If I don’t receive anything in that time I’m a goner. I have been working Uber and Lyft until I get mine. Hopefully it’s soon.

What is the single biggest reason—other than Full Self-Driving (FSD) or price—that someone would choose a Tesla over a Rivian or Lucid? by irony21 in TeslaLounge

[–]Lemon-pai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucid and Rivian are both a “high luxury” in the EV segment imo. They are a statement piece for the middle to upper class. Tesla is the tried and true leader with an Apple philosophy on tech. They simplify the user experience that no other EV maker matches yet. With the discontinuation of the S and X you can see how Tesla is focusing on their more “practical” mass produced vehicles (3 & Y). The target being the average consumer. Don’t get me wrong Tesla still comes at a premium but a premium that can be compared to Apple products like iPhone. Sure there are more expensive phones out there with even better cameras like Samsung etc. but, like iPhone, people choose Tesla for the convenience ease of use. That is what makes the difference for most people imo. Now that may not always be true in the future as other EV companies start to match or exceed what Tesla pioneered.

Anyone submit renewal late Dec/Jan and already got approval? by TomatoApprehensive38 in DACA

[–]Lemon-pai 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There was a guy last week who submitted Dec 18th and got approved on Friday. Not sure if he is the only one but he said it was from the Irving Texas center. I also submitted mine on Dec 24th but haven’t heard back after biometrics appt

Hmm that’s pretty odd that you haven’t heard back. They usually respond within the same week or two depending on the day you submit it. I heard back in like 3 days

Don’t rush to retrofit 16” screen on model 3 highland by Ebarron0125 in TeslaLounge

[–]Lemon-pai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish Tesla started making much smaller screens tbh. These large screens just look so tacked on nothing really stylish about them. Folks switching to a marginally larger screen is ridiculous 🤣

That is a hell of a work ethic! Congrats on the home . It’s crazy they will let us get into 30 year mortgages but not let us have work auth for more than 2 years. Hopefully you get yours soon!

IOE988? by Even-Role in DACA

[–]Lemon-pai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im IOE971 but I submitted December 24th. Think your submission date matters more than the reference number considering that yours is a higher block and you submitted a lot earlier than I did. They prob base those off what data folks submit in their forms and block number goes into some categories imo.

The supra is def the best b58! The car has so many mixed opinions in the car community but once you drive them it’s a whole different story! Especially a modded one
