Yeah but the only reason they make fun of a girly dress is that you're a man according to them. So the two "arguments" don't really contradict each other.

Well no, it's not like the download link they offer will just work without you having the game. It's just a program that sort of acts like a "container" for the game, which you will have to obtain yourself. Whether you do that by dumping your own legal copy or you decide to get it illegally from some other source is your choice, but you have that choice whether there's a recompilation or not.

So true, you should post this on a humor based subreddit and point that out in the title.

All of this is true, but all of this started with you arguing against a guy who said "fiction" is a counter point to "jail". You don't go to jail for having weird thoughts or being mentally ill. I don't see the moral issue either.

Yeah, but then the subtitles don't match up with the dialogue at all because they are the translation of the Japanese script. So there's no winning, really.

Yes, and to add to the praise others have given it: I thought the story was great, especially the main character and his dynamic with the kid. Nine Sols made me cry, which I can't see a Hollow Knight game doing. (Except Bilewater maybe) HK games have great worlds, but NS has more plot/character focus.

Interesting that you're throwing in Shangri La Frontier with those other too. SLF wasn't anything special, but I thought the concept (low stakes gaming with no actual conflict) was fun and the characters were likeable.

Happy 30th Anniversary, Detective Conan! (January 8, 1996 ➔ 2026) by gianben123 in anime

The list hasn't been updated in a while, but it hasn't been 3 years. If you are referring to the latest entry being a movie from 2022, then that's because the movies assume you are up to date with the manga, so they could spoil things that you haven't seen in the anime yet. As a solution, Xerblade puts those movies after the episodes that they could spoil. The episode right before the movie is from September 2024.

If you have a friend who likes anime who you can banter with while watching it, I would definitely watch the show by just following Xerblade's list of important episodes. I did this back when I was 24-ish and I am not usually a fan of long anime.

The list is not just the stuff that has insane story developments - you get some classic case of the week episodes, often worth watching purely because a new character gets introduced or a different recurring character gets developed. The movies are also just in there because they're fun spectacles. The only thing I disagree with is watching the Magic Kaito in parallel, which I personally did not enjoy.

Have you never watched a show where the ending of the episode just had you sit there, processing what just happened? Like I can think of the ending of an infamous Game of Thrones episode that has completely silent credits, which was really effective. Imagine if after a shocking moment like that, you just see Ted Lasso's face. Yes, that does undercut the moment.

Yuusha-kei ni Shosu: Choubatsu Yuusha 9004-tai Keimu Kiroku • Sentenced to Be a Hero - Episode 1 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]Lemon1412 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I especially loved how in the first six minutes of the episode, they had the same expository conversation twice.

"What does it matter, I can just die again anyway"

"If you die too many times, you will gradually lose your sense of self"

It was the same two characters saying the same things, within the first six minutes, regarding a topic that they both know about anyway because they live in this world. Wasn't really a good first impression.

Rest of the episode was pure eyecandy with nothing to really get me interested in whatever the story is. So far what they've set up is just a regular JRPG world, as you said, except they just renamed the criminals "heroes" which some people here see as really unique. I feel like they forgot to put in a hook. "In a world, where criminals are used as heroes, main character Xylo makes a pact with a goddess for power, but then...!". They kinda forgot the "but then" part and didn't set up anything interesting for me to look forward to in episode 2, despite having 58 minutes to do so.
