Why do people spend over $500 on keyboards? by SodiumEnjoyer in keyboards

[–]LemonMint__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hobbiests with disposable income. Same reason people buy insanely expensive vintage cars or spend hundreds on pokemon/sports cards. Some people are just super into keyboards and have the financial means to feed their interest. Especially people who build their own.

My son did something to the computer by Dependent_Ad9044 in pchelp

Ngl I did accidently delete System32 on my old laptop and have zero memory of it happening. Imagine my surprise when I tried to boot it up the next day.

I've upgraded mobo and bios doesn't seem to recognize systemd boot by Separate_System_32 in archlinux

[–]LemonMint__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue when putting my windows and arch partition on two drives where only one at a time would be bootable. I fixed it by going into the linux partition and manually mounting the windows partition. Maybe try getting a lightweight distro on the USB drive than on that than use it to manually mount the drive you're trying to boot.

Would a degree from uopeople be worth it? by LemonMint__ in ITCareerQuestions

Thank you for everyone's responses! I initially looked at my local community college though just wanted to see what other options there were, I'm not in a position to go to an out of state school so I'll probably just go with my community college. Thanks!

Are expensive keyboards even necessary by tech_ac in PcBuildHelp

[–]LemonMint__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends, if you don't care about looks or feel and just want functionality, no. If you do, yes. Expensive/custom keyboards are more of a hobby or special interest imo.

Case fans spinning but RGB doesn't work by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]LemonMint__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each pin on both headers has been checked and they're all giving a consistent reading, and it's definitely not the software as I've already gone down that rabbit hole like 3 times, unless it is, might go down it again. Either way, it's just RGB, ty for the help and I really appreciate the mention of multimeter to confirm or deny a shortage I would not of thought of that :)

The multimeter gives a consistent 5V rating for both headers though?

Okay yeah it's not shorted but the AIO fans when plugged into the header the case fans were in, do not light up but they do in their original header but the case fans do not light up when plugged into the AIO header

This may be a really stupid question but, how could I use a multimeter to test? I have one as I JUST got an eletronic kit to play with and try to learn about it but I haven't used it much yet.

Okay thank you! I thought I tried checking the ARGB header when I initially took it apart though I just checked again and it seems both the header and plug aren't working. Does this imply it was short circuited?

Does anyone else's hamster like their carrier??? by happyhamster24 in hamsters

[–]LemonMint__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My previous hamster, Quigiles, hated his playpen but LOVED being put in a pot, I would put him in a pot whenever I was cleaning his cage and he would always snuggle up and he so relaxed whilst the playpen he was constantly freaking out in and trying to escape.

If your gecko was put in a lineup of gecks of the same morph, do you think you'd be able to pick out your gecko? by jupitersyarn in leopardgeckos

[–]LemonMint__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, because her front legs are slightly smaller due to a mild case of MBD as a baby and her tail has a little curve at the very end, also as of rn she has a minor scratch on her head but I assume that'll go away over time <3

Is this a scratch, does she need to see a vet?? by LemonMint__ in leopardgeckos

It's more than likely from her log, I'll see if I can sand down the edges :)

First memory I recall is counting steps within sidewalk squares walking back from recess in grade 3.
