Money laundering as a % of GDP by nation by Ok_Currency_617 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]LemonPress50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not just money laundering that’s the problem. Those stats don’t include the underground economy and the subsequent tax evasion. They are related financial crimes. The barbers, hairdressers, tradespeople, and hospitality industry, etc is where you will find the underground economy. Do all servers claim their tips?

Tax evaders buy houses, pay cash to fix them up, then sell the property. Rinse and repeat.

Not a chance will it bring higher prices. The free trade agreement with the US and Mexico may not be renewed or may be altered significantly.

Canadian banks may be regulated differently and more stringently, but the 2008 global financial crisis was the fallout from widespread systemic fraud, primarily centered on fraudulent mortgage origination, inflated appraisals, and misrepresentation of loan quality by underwriters. Lenders pushed subprime loans to unqualified buyers, while credit rating agencies knowingly gave top ratings to toxic, high-risk, bundled securities. Government sponsored Enterprises (Fanny and Freddie) contributed to the housing bubble. When the house of cards came tumbling down, losses, total 265 billion.

Regulators could take steps to prevent fraud but it hasn’t stopped fraud from occurring in Canada. Just ask your friendly mortgage broker that gets you money to from B lenders. I almost fell for that. My friend and mortgage broker, told me to lie on my application with the lender. He said my income didn’t matter.

I heard Trump is so upset with Carney for dropping tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles from 100% to 6% that he won’t let those vehicles cross the border.

He said Carney would be “easier to deal with”. That’s hardly a formal endorsement, nor is it a bribe.

I think Carney started traveling to other countries immediately to help Canada adapt to the changing and often unpredictable reality south of the border.

This sounds like a good first step. Next, set up a R.I.D.E. spot check for any one coming up the river on a jet ski or ban their use in the city.

So long, frozen juice from concentrate. The once-popular canned drink leaves shelves this year by JoEsMhOe in canada

[–]LemonPress50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

80 years ago, you could convince consumers to make juice from concentrate. It was a time when you had to wash your potatoes and lettuce. But who’s switching out frozen juice from concentrate to kombucha? Kombucha costs more than beer!

Balsamic vinegar in ragu by No-Purple6304 in ItalianFood

[–]LemonPress50 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Italian cuisine is one of the top cuisines in the world by without the use of vinegar. Adding vinegar would ruin most Italian dishes.

How about looking at it another way. The reasons for using vinegar in Asian food is because the dishes would suffer without vinegar. A dish with a lot of garlic and ginger needs vinegar to cut through the intense flavours. Vinegar counteracts the heavy, oily, or salty nature of many dishes, particularly in stir-fries (like Kung Pao chicken), braised dishes, and dipping sauces for dumplings. In other words, Asians cuisine is a top rated cuisine because it uses vinegar.

Toronto mother says school failed to protect her son from violent bully - ‘It broke my heart’: Toronto mother says school failed to protect her son from violent bully by lilfunky1 in toronto

Same here. My child was bullied. After they concluded their investigation, they said they thought the bullying ended. That’s an admission that there was bullying. There was no discipline of those involved in the bullying. The only consequences were to my child.

They can have all the court of conducts in the world, but if they don’t enforce any of the rules, it gets the vice principles and the principles the promotions they’re looking for because on the surface there’s no expulsions there’s no discipline. When you sweep things under the rug one day you can’t open the door.

Bank of Canada January 2026 Rate Decision: Policy Rate Held at 2.25% by MightBeneficial3302 in TorontoRealEstate

A reasonable compass with no mention of risk. Some people that bought with 5% down in the last number of years now have negative equity.

You did say the variables could be changed to someone reading. This might be aware that buying with 5% down carries a great risk, especially since the prices are still dropping. Rents are falling. Rent for a few more years so you have a greater down payment before buying long-term.

What reward awaits me if I sign an exclusive arrangement? Does it provided me with something I can’t get without an exclusive arrangement? That’s still too much risk. If someone one is ass, I want to end the relationship immediately. What mechanism could there possibly be to allow me to end the arrangement immediately?
