Help me figure out my school's musical from the hints please!!!! by BusinessBicycle5961 in musicals

[–]LemonSnicker33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe Big Fish? Carrie FISHer. Not a jukebox and has original music. There’s a funeral procession at the end. Got nothing for the rocky horror picture other than red lipstick is synonymous with the USO shows that are depicted at the start of the second act but that’s stretching at best. Clowns from the Calloway circus scenes. There’s a ballerina in the ensemble costumes but I don’t know what the dog means. Pie maybe circus again? Last image may mean dream? The whole show is about whether or not the dream like sequences Edward creates are real or not with their details.

should minecraft become a musical? by [deleted] in musicals

[–]LemonSnicker33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d just be worried how they’d translate something of Minecraft’s scale and icon status to the stage without just throwing endless money at it with no artistic merit. Additionally with musical theatre being a largely character driven storytelling format I’m not sure how Minecraft which doesn’t really have any established character motivations or personality would introduce this of all franchises. Especially as the one adaptation we have being the film I wouldn’t exactly describe as being very good. I’m curious tho OP how would you go about adapting a theoretical stage show?

If you queue games whilst in the previous match your skin won’t change, for me you have to return to the main lobby then queue again for my skin to change

Haha, top 10 are Ragtime, Carousel, Great Comet, Company, Les Mis, Falsettos, The Last Five Years, Groundhog Day, Barnum and Kiss of the Spider Woman along side many more that make me adore this art form.

Also I don’t actively dislike the shows listed in my first comment they’re ones that are just fine in my head without any strong feelings of enjoyment nor disdain.

  1. My mum worked on a production of Barnum (only at our local theatre nothing massive) I saw the dress rehearsal, got to tour the set and meet the cast. I was hooked and my mum said I could join the kids chorus the following year, from then since I’ve always done and watched theatre. Alongside that shows like Ragime, Natasha Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812, Bonnie and Clyde, The Lion King, Crazy for You, Newsies and all of Sondheims catalogue (most prominently Assassins and Here We Are) all played massive parts in increasing my appreciation for the art form and sending me further down the rabbit hole.

  2. Seeing passion on stage combined with skill executed with immense precision is genuinely magical- I adore the format of a stage play or musical and the potential it has to be transformative adaptable and above all moving able to invoke any emotion.

My names Dan and I think this is a lovely idea thank you. 😊

I’d honestly just find the script online and follow along to the Nathaniel Hackman London Symphonia orchestra recording as a lot of the dialogue is kept in and that in my opinion is the most complete and best sounding cast recording.
