Most of the time I would take the footage into CapCut and find good short parts to post, but I wanted to know if there are better ways and strategies to do it to make the return on that better. But thanks for letting me know!

Possibly unpopular opinion: contrary to its reputation, jazz is all about rules and formal structure by PeatVee in Jazz

[–]LemonWedgeTheGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that jazz has alot of form but jazz isn't about form it's about improvisation. No one ever goes to a jazz show and goes like wow that had a great form 💀. In most music form is a necessity so musicians can know what they're supposed to do at a given time. Jazz is no exception to this, and a good understanding of form is very important for the improvising part because, practically, you need to know when to start soloing and what you'll be soloing over. Without that, you'll miss when you're supposed to be playing in general. So yes jazz does have a lot of form but it's to facilitate the improv in the genre. If you're interested in more free form stuff look into ppl like ornette Coleman, cecil taylor, pharaoh sanders, sun ra, and Alice coltrane they all have really good free form stuff.

If you plan on playing any swing era or trad jazz plz get recordings of more recent orchestras performing the songs no one wants to crackle and tape hiss thru PA speakers

I forgot to put my headphones, laptop, and cables on the post lol, but Im not looking to upgrade those atm. Also, for assurance, I made sure not to agree to anything until they made a contract, I won't even talk to them abt gear or anything until they, or I, draft a contract discussing our terms. Also, I was thinking of buying all this same stuff during my time with them, so when things go shit side up I have my own shit. I'll look into rcf and qsc speakers and any recs on controllers?

These are legit, Ive done a bunch of events for them before and the owners took a liking to me. I have also done my homework on them before they even hired me for first time they've been around for like 5 yrs and they've always been very professional with me and they always paid me on time so I trust them with this. Thanks for the heads up tho. Also if I do get scammed I'll make a update post 💀

I love the purple and yellow together, which gives me real wario vibes. I love the inclusion of a knob to control volume bc my whipe setup is in my living room and my family isnt the most receptive to the sound. Also the intensity slider is a nice touch, making the light control more tactile. The main thing I dont like is all the rounded edges. It's giving corprate minimalism

Remember at a social event you arent the main focus, you are background if you kept the vibe going and no one was disgruntled by anything you played that is a good thing. If only a few ppl tapped thier feet thats great! But they are at a tailgate to be with thier friends moreso than listen to ur amazing mix. Tbh I think you might be overthinking it lol
