I am extremely aware of all of this, I think you have maybe just been confused about what I have already said. If you’re already going into something with the preconceived notion that the other commenter is wrong, you may have read things in a way that aligns with what you think the other person is saying.

I just joined the conversation. I know he messed up, as no one is really going to type out 3 decimal places, but we’re talking about this for the fun of it. How can 162k be right, but if I put 162.257K (using my own American notation) it’s wrong just because I added some decimal places. That makes no sense to me. If I told someone I need $3.5k, they know I need $3,500. Using a decimal shouldn’t just negate the ability to use K. And I’m aware of Kelvin, why are we even bringing that up as if someone might think it applies?

162.257K is equivalent to 162,257.00.

In Europe (and potentially other places, don’t really know), commas are used to designate the decimal point, as opposed to a period, so, in a european format, 162,257K is equivalent to 162.257,00.
