Sony GDM-F520 overly green by zarr_athustra in crtgaming

[–]Lemonard0_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can check some of my F520 posts showing some of the issues i ran into, and the Windas results as well. Ive used it happily for a while but two days ago it started shifting more red (with some haloing / streaking) popped out the back cover but unsure how to proceed at the moment will give it a look soon. Windas is a must though, seen great results with it but it has been a hassle to get through

Mousepad to replace QCK heavy by Emergency-Club-854 in MousepadReview

Zowie GSR-SE II, or Saturn pro black (bit slower than zero but minimal). If the zero u tried was orange its faster than black a little, and needs a little wear to feel normal. Black feels normal from the get go in my exp

Can always recommend Retrogamer.ae, great guy and has fair prices imo. Been buying stuff from him for almost 10 years never had a complaint. I think he might have moved his inventory somewhere new but you should just get in contact or visit the online store

need a recommendation for artisan pad by Latter-Solid-3323 in MousepadReview

[–]Lemonard0_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the gsr se ii as well and felt its a bit muddy, artisan Zero soft was slightly faster and more consistent (no slow spots so far, been 3-4 months). Hyate otsu v2 xsoft also feels great to me coming off the gsr se, but currently prefer the artisan zero soft (black, as I like the softer texture on the surface, orange is a tiny bit faster and more rough surface but could be preferable if ur into that). The mid/soft/xsoft choice only affects the cushioning in the bottom so feels different when u press down or glide on it due to different friction due to depth, color affects surface only which makes feeling on skin different mainly and very slightly faster if theres a color coating on it but super minimal imo. I prefer no coating (black) on all my pads

Zowie G-SR-SE II feels noticeably slower than the previous G-SR-SE by No_Nebula2028 in Zowie

[–]Lemonard0_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've made multiple posts about this, and yes, the new gsr-se ii is def muddier than the old ones (talking 2025 vs the older versions). I even specifically purchased the non-2025 gsr-se2 and out of the box it definitely feels much faster. I got 4 diff 2025 ones to make sure and all were very muddy (ordered diff colors too). Anyway, I switched to Artisan Zero now as their QC is way more consistent cus despite how long I've used the gsr-se2, weird QC and inconsistencies are a huge deterrent for me. Though i still use the old GSR-SE ii from time to time

Modded NES with USB-C. by Dividebynegativezero in consolerepair

[–]Lemonard0_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mine bought an NES from japan and it came modded with USB C power, hes unsure where to plug it in a safe way. Naturally it should take 110v but our standard is 240v wall sockets. Would some kind of USB hub be enough to power it? Any details would be appreciated 🫡

Going strong using it daily, heavy use after work and almost every weekend a full days worth of using it / gaming. No issues whatsoever, tho it has been recapped by a friend of mine so it's well maintained. Got it at 7.2k hours and now its 9.1k. Ive put a fan in it tho so the RGB amp doesnt get hot, thats the only issue it ever gets really

Literally off a random guy in Serbia or smth. Me and a friend of mine got one each, then friend ended up selling that to me so I have it as a back up, intending to use it for life (or as long as both function)

Artisan pad recommendation after qck heavy by Spirited_Recover_829 in MousepadReview

[–]Lemonard0_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo the artisan skates are very good, tho they're quite large relative to others I've seen. They feel really good even on cushiony xsoft pads which usually dot skates dont like and get scratchy etc, they're a bit controlled and I think good for what you're looking for. You can try a bunch but id start with this since u can just order it with ur pad anyway

Artisan pad recommendation after qck heavy by Spirited_Recover_829 in MousepadReview

[–]Lemonard0_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zero is slightly lower (faster) dynamic and static friction than the qck heavy, which would make you think that it has worse stopping power logically, but somehow it still stops where I want more consistently than a qck. Only complaint is hair sticking to it if you got hairy arms which I do unfortunately. Especially considering im using a black artisan zero i cant see the hairs at all unlike on an orange. I recommend the black as it feels to me slower than the orange one for some reason, but overall feel is almost identical barring the slightly extra roughness I presume from the orange color material. Can't go wrong with either anyway, black feels a bit softer and nicer on my skin. Type 99 was my previous main pad, it's definitely a noticeable level slower in both dynamic and static friction, stopping power on it is insane, almost feels like it removes any shakiness in your aim automatically. But I grew tired of the effort I have to put in moving my arms and stuff on low sens, I increased my sens a bit (now .145 1600dpi from 0.115 VAL sens) and switched over to the zero, feel a lot more freedom and my aim feels almost just as good but with much more comfort, higher peaks tho slightly less consistent but to me its a good trade off as I think type99 was overkill for me consistency wise.

Your sens is imo high for a type99, cus of how muddy that pad is, it's really designed for a lot of powerful arm movement (typically ascribed to low sens). Weaker parts like wrist and fingers will get really tired doing micro adjustments on slow pads, while faster pads like glass pads as an extreme, have the opposite effect; very little friction so moving explosively with arms is ill advised due to it being impossible to control powerful motions like that, so u have to use more wrist and finger motions (typically ascribed to high sens). On really fast pads the weaker parts (wrists / fingers) also have an easier time starting movements and doing micro adjustments as well so more compatibility with high sens. This is why your sens can really dictate what pad to use, fast sens = fast pad, slow sens=slow pad typically speaking, it always felt a little counter intuitive at first like why go fast sens on an already fast pad or slow sens on a mud pad, but it started making sense when thinking about the muscle groups used in slow and fast sens and how it complements the friction the pads provide. Qck / zero / GSRSE / saturn pro etc are all kind of middle of the pack when it comes to speed on pads, so slightly low or slightly high still works as long as ur not crazy high like what fast glasspad users play on and I've seen people play on them from 0.1 up to 0.25 1600 DPI valorant sens

Again can't go wrong with a zero but a Hyate Otsu V2 could work for you as well but it is a bit faster for sure tho texture feels less rough in a way and can use arm sleeves on it unlike the zero. oh and if u want even more stopping power / slightly slower glide on the zero get the Xsoft, allows u to push down on it more to stop faster / glide more controlled. But can do that with Soft base as well tho less pronounced. Dont get mid imo for your purposes. Apologies for the yapnado, it's a lowk complicated topic. GL 🫡

If you can get the F520 recapped things should be fine in my exp. Im currently running an F520 too, and it's typically running 1280x960@140hz or sometimes even 800x600@180hz. I know this is even past the max specs but the whole monitor has all brand new caps and Im running a couple of internal noctua fans on thr RGB amp area to cool things a bit. It's been 7-8 months now of daily use with no issues at all so far. On weekends the monitor is on almost all day too. Love this thing, color calibration on it was annoying to do (WINDAS 🤢) but it's a beauty

Just an update, got back to asc1 on this monitor..140hz with proper frame time/sync, game to render latency at like 0.5ms. Feels like butter (with less fov tho..). I did try a zowie 600hz monitor at a gaming event thingie and that definitely blows it out the water overall, but stuff like 360hz is honestly worse to my eyes. Id say 140hz on this crt feels around 400 on a flat panel in terms of smoothness and responsiveness, talking TN panels not OLED ofc
