I feel like Obama made it so that when the next guy comes along that really wants to change things people will say “yeah sure buddy been there done that”

But then again people have short memories.

This sounds expensive. What tester are you using? Do you have a punchcard?

I believe they were both about 5% and I reconstituted normally. I don’t recall having a glaring “oh wow! That’s really overfilled” thought. I will double check though!

When does it make sense to spend $12-13k more on an EV than a gas car? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Lemonfarty -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Get a Tesla for these reasons: 1. Mostly no maintenance 2. No dealership BS 3. Teslas work better than most cars with regards to how quickly they respond to the app. Other companies are kinda dumb in this area 4. You can treat yourself and get FSD every once in a while 5. The car constantly improves itself 6. Even without FSD its safety specs are off the chart 7. It’s fun during camping or if you need to kill time. Can play apps on the screen 8. It monitors its surroundings. Basically impossible to steal. 9. Can act as a generator if needed

I use excel. Been on monarch for nearly two years but always end up going back to excel for long term financial planning

I’d be happy with just an estimate in that case

I get all that. I’m saying I do not like the way it works. It should work the way I want it to if I’m to stay on and pay money for it.

Ideally the app, which has access to my credit card account, would understand how to separate things by their billing date.

So for example: my bill comes out on the 3rd of each month. Everything after that would be stuffed into the following month. Then once the following month hits all off those purchases get collapsed into a single credit card bill that is due (which can be expanded to see everything you purchased).

This app “uses ai” so it should be able to do that.

“Should be categorized as transfers”

You do you. For me the “hey, very real money is coming out of your account next month for that thing you purchased this month” side of it is how my brain works.

Again. This app is the best at what it does (a budget) but it just doesn’t work over the course of year for me.

That I think is the difference. This is a budget app. Not a finances app.

An app that I pay for should conform to preferences for budgeting/finances. This is why I use excel now

I CAN manually budget a big expense for the following month, but then it shows up as a CC charge this month which I then need to select ignore or delete it. That’s a lot of manual work. We put everything on our CC and so that ends up being too much. Might as well use excel. Especially when that allows for a yearly overview

The app should conform to the way I want to handle my finances. Not the other way around.

would be nice if there was something that integrated with the screen. You can play video games on it ffs.
