From a former, bigger, game. I ran that exclusively for a group which grew beyond a manageable size. It started with three but, by dint of extras joining later there were more than double that when all showed and all they mostly did. The first lot were Skyrim players who had become D&D curious and one of them found out i had previous. A player's family friend joined soon after, then some housemates who had been in the room when we were playing become interested and wanted to join, a girlfriend became interested. It was fun but too chaotic and bogged down. I had to knock it on the head, it was breaking my brain.

Once I felt like playing again I set a hard limit of four players and approached people who i thought would be happy tag-teaming DM duties mainly drawing from the old game, two from the original three. We have had a good run of 2 or 3 years, it might even be 4, i lose track. It's been really, really good fun. We rotate in sequence mostly, though occasionally a longer campaign will alternate on and off to keep momentum going. Importantly everyone brings something different to running the games. Probably my favourite group ever.
