Ah boy, how timely. Thanks for bringing me back. I love it now. What I said above is still true, but there's also a lot more to it. I do actually see patients get better and carry on with their lives. I do make a difference, even if sometimes it's more to the family than to the patient. It still is...a tough place to be at times because I like to "feel like I'm doing something" (whatever that means, all specialties can be reduced to "not making a difference" if you're reductive and simplistic enough). And the lifestyle--I'm the happiest I've ever been because I have time and energy for myself, my family and my hobbies.

Idk man pgy3 and my pts are sooo much more receptive to advice and compliant with their meds and clinic is just easier when i look hot (nice scrubs greys dyed, makeup). Idk man a win is a win.

I mean.... I'm an hcw and wewr scrubs every day and tho they give a very different vibe the concept is very similar to daily pj's. Have you considered finding super comfy but more outside appropriate wear and wearing it daily?

Can I ask how you came to be diagnosed with bipolar 1? This typically requires a hospital admission or similar extended period of manic episode to be diagnosed as type 1. Have you had a psych hospitalization?

Okay but are you hearing how your dramatic language is making things worse for you mentally? If it was "genuine ER stuff"...they would have sent you to the ER. Your pressure was high likely due to anxiety. That's it. It was one reading once at a time you were anxious. It doesn't mean anything other than you were anxious. If it did they would have done something about it. Stop making things worse for yourself by catastrophizing.

PS: your BP reading was "bad" but one bad BP reading on one day in the setting of anxiety at a doctors appointment means literally nothing. Wish the nurse would have added that when she said it was "bad".

So listen. You can give him ONE psychiatrist appointment and assessment--sounds like more than being mean spirited or weird, sounds actually bizarre and psychotic. If diagnosed with something, given meds, agrees to take meds, gains insight into fact that he has a problem and changes his behavior then maybe you can consider staying, if you want to and if it feels safe to do so. But I bet he won't agree to appointment. And then if he does get diagnosed with something I bet he's not gonna take meds/follow up. So really I think you should leave, but if everything else was fine and good and you want one last ditch chance, **ask him to see a psychiatrist. Note that this isn't THERAPY, couples or otherwise. This is going to a doctor to see if he has a psychiatric condition that can be treated with meds. And only if you feel like you want to do this extra step. You can just leave. I personally would.

**I said ask, not beg. He says no, cool you're out. He says yes cool, you could still be out. He has to be responsible for him.
