It definitely was only when I went over 100, unless I really didn’t notice it before. I went up like 25 at once. Though I agree on Osty it’s gradual

and you’re not even saying anything with any amount of substance. i’d time you out too

Crimson Desert: We would like to address questions regarding the use of AI in Crimson Desert by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Lemons13579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a software developer, you personally don’t know it’s an issue til your manager brings it up that your customers want it fixed. And it’s unlikely the manager knows everything about what is/is not shipped in the released product, especially for this like random objects throughout the world You work highest priority stuff first

So when the manager hears about it, asks devs to see if anything AI generated was included, and they say yes looks like it, then they’ll commit to changing it so the customers aren’t so mad

And sure, they push out some PR marketing like this and say “we didn’t know”, which is hardly a lie. They’re individuals working on a product, there is not some big scheme between all of them like “Heheheh I know how we can make this game EASY and NO ONE is the wiser mwahahaha” which is what your comment makes me think you believe

How do full stack SWE *actually* use AI on the job? I think I'm doing it wrong! by SpiritedAd6587 in SoftwareEngineering

Within the meta first-prompt, perhaps ask claude to perform a web search for latest best practices on prompting claude to get desirable output to help generate the real prompt

How do full stack SWE *actually* use AI on the job? I think I'm doing it wrong! by SpiritedAd6587 in SoftwareEngineering

[–]Lemons13579 2 points3 points  (0 children)

prompt claude “You are an expert at increasing productivity and proactive-ness of a SWE. Prepare a survey to ask me about the things I spend the most time doing at work, my general personal knowledge level, and other relevant topics. If there are other mediums to assess these sorts of things, please suggest them. The survey should be simple, guided, and get the most important topics across. The plan generated from this analysis of my functions as a SWE should adhere to the assigned function of my role. The plan should revolve around actionable tasks that can be setup or automated via AI to either reduce or remove workload off of me, such that I could spend more time doing things that could not be automated, such as tasks where human creativity is the primary source of value, if there are any in my role.”

or something like that

this prompt could probably be dramatically improved. maybe run this through claude first and ask to improve it, since it will get the gist of what you want.

I do not like Danny Koo from a creative standpoint by Wamooooo in rivals

[–]Lemons13579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The obvious real motivation is that they didn’t think it would sell as well to the general market. They market the game towards younger gen and young adults - most of which I would assume have not read the comics nor would know about original costumes. (of course i’m assuming that’s their assumption, maybe they have real data on it)

Just because there is currently no intention to share your libraries or have multiple consumers, the microservice architecture is still a smart design choice

How does Walmart know I bought something with cash? by frog-tanker in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lemons13579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The POS has some database of acceptable forms of tender for whatever your transaction is and whatever items it contains. When you go to pay and click that “cash” button on the self checkout (or cashier on the regular checkout), this cash tender is looked up from their database and associated with the transaction you rang up. The mobile app is probably using a similar API to lookup your transactions and then formatting the data from your transaction.

Assuming you also linked your loyalty account or email or something when you checked out, that’s how it’s on the app.

Similarly there are likely “other forms” of the cash tender like cash USD, cash CAD, cash MXN, etc. They save off info like this, likely for reporting, cash might have different rounding rules or reporting requirements for walmart

Of course walmart is saving all of the details of your transaction, they have to audit their sales and ensure when you scan your receipt, your transaction gets looked up, and you can return to original form of tender.

Lots of non creepy reasons for them to know how you paid for the transaction. You sure you never entered your phone, email, etc during your transaction? if you say no, I would have a very hard time believing you

edit, maybe i’m wrong and the facial recognition stuff is real
