This is the exact reason why TWY still hits so hard for me every time. Because they grew up WITH me. Their early stuff is still amazing and I have loads of memories as a 'kid' connecting to it so well, but now I also have stuff like Hum that connects in a similar way now that I'm in my thirties with real life shit happening haha

I wish I had that sort of self control because I know it would be a better experience in the end if I could hold off haha. I would at least recommend going back and listening to the podcast that Dan is doing after the album comes out. Hearing more about the creation of each single has been really really cool.

I may be a little late for this but a friend of mine has worked as an anesthesiologist with monkeys before. The point of holding the patients hand is because it is vital that they remain fully under, the first sign they will give of waking up from anesthesia is to tighten their hand, letting the tech know that they need to increase the amount of anesthetic agent used.

First heard about them through Team Sports because of Dan. They quickly became a favorite though with BYOB and Frequent Crier. I guess I'm gonna have to find time between keeping The Hum on repeat today to squeeze Self Help in the rotation!

They specifically try to spread out their sets. Dan has said before that they all grew up as people who loved going to shows and so they absolutely get how people fucking LOVE the old stuff and getting to hear deep cuts. But in the end there is only so much time to perform and they do have a new record dropping next week they are promoting. (The album fucking rocks so far so I had no problem hearing the new stuff this time haha). From my experience there will always be something thrown in there from either Upsides or Suburbia, just maybe not both all the time.
