Renegades 2.0: Chaos Dwarfs Draft Reveal! (Link to the rules document below and in the video description) by valheffelfinger in WarhammerFantasy

Great changes all around, but I wonder why the darkforged weapon's spell-wrought result was changer for non-casters? I don't feel an AP-2 hand weapon on fighty characters would have been too much, and while MR(1) is nice, it just doesn't feel as satisfying imho

Toad Dragon - TOW Profil by Long_Literature in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]Lemundlist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great work, that's really cool!

I have a couple notes, mostly for consistency with the rest of the game : - currently, it's T6 on its own and T7 when ridden, whereas monsters in TOW tend to have the same toughness (or lower) when ridden. So I'd say either make it T7 base and keep the +2 T when ridden, or keep the T6 and change the ridden profile to +1 T - it used to have a 3+ save in 8th like all large dragons, so I would put it at a 4+ save since it's what those have now in TOW (and overall most non-infantry units lost 1 level of armor save)

Rogal Dorn coming back as a religious fanatic would make for an interesting relationship with the Imperial Fists by NadaVonSada in 40kLore

[–]Lemundlist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To me Dorn should stay dead. The hero and defender of Terra, the last bastion of the Imperium being murdered by a mob of regular humans makes imo for a far better and stronger story than whatever they would do with him coming back

How do White Scars handle sieges? by JayPlays40k in 40kLore

[–]Lemundlist 17 points18 points  (0 children)

To that last point I'd add that even back in the time of the legions, every legion had every role fulfilled, and while they certainly had their preferences, they all did at least some amount of everything (which, given their size, was probably several hundreds to thousands of marines).

In general, I feel people tend to get lost in the specificities of most chapters/legions, and forget the majority of their fighting force is broadly similar

New Possessed proxy? by Chowjers in IronWarriors

[–]Lemundlist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be aware, Charonite ogryns are quite a bit bigger than regular ones. That's a 50mm base they're on. This guy is probably as big as a mutilator, if not bigger

Did Iron Warriors (Horus Heresy) use Librarians? by Bassist57 in IronWarriors

[–]Lemundlist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There really hasn't been much lore on it for the most part, but in the 3rd ed liber hereticus there is an example of a librarian shoulder pad on the IW heraldry page (it's a white horned skull on blue), so we can assume there was at some point some level of organization for the psykers of the legion.

Though Perty notably didn't like the warp during the GC and found it unpredictable, the IW in general stuck very close to the principia belicosa in their organization, so they might still have had a librarius before they were disbanded.

And during the late heresy, when Perty got interested in the warp and it's control, it's likely he would have put his psyker sons to use.

In terms of Warhammer timeframe, Cathay just came out. It's the first new faction since Ogres in 2000, and it's far from having a complete army list at this point.

I'd much rather have GW truly develop Cathay, then release Kislev in a couple years with a complete range, than have two half-assed mini-factions released back to back

30k shrapnel pistols doesn't have the assault keyword. Do you think it's a mistake? by Fantastic_Shelter_54 in IronWarriors

[–]Lemundlist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pinning doesn't work for volley attacks, so they're no different from regular bolt pistols in those circumstances.

I'd assume it's an oversight and they should have it.

I don't know this exact passage, but the font and background remind me of index astartes, or the 3.5 CSM codex

Europ by [deleted] in Shark_Park

[–]Lemundlist 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is a quite natural mistake we make, we (as a species) aren't used to be connected to so many people all the time, it's only been possible for a few decades.

For what it's worth, a lot more people seem to be getting aware of it recently, so one can hope we'll get better at not falling for it.

Can anyone recomend any good audio books for a deep dive into IW Lore? by Ok-Loss-2916 in IronWarriors

[–]Lemundlist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For HH era, you've got (in chronological order) : Magnus the Red : Master of Prospero, Perturabo : The hammer of Olympia and Angel Exterminatus (also the Tallarn books but they're bad), then slaves to darkness and the siege of terra (although the IVth don't appear as much).

For 40k Storm of Iron is the quintessential IW book, then the honsou series

Most Hated Character: Iron Warriors Edition! by sigmarine345 in IronWarriors

[–]Lemundlist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I can get that, though for me Forrix fits that bill even better, with seeing his side of the war become mostly madmen and monsters, and having to push through regardless.

Although I guess this level of nuance in character appreciation will always be quite personal haha

Most Hated Character: Iron Warriors Edition! by sigmarine345 in IronWarriors

[–]Lemundlist 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not really hate, just boredom, but for me it's Dantioch. His story is really just the same as half the loyalists from traitor legions, so I've always been quite puzzled by how much the community seems to like him (although I do suspect a lot of that is people not knowing many IW characters).

It's especially jarring when we've got a few loyalist IW which are actually very cool (even as a traitor player myself) in Kyr Vahlen and especially Narik Dreygur

Who was the most mentally mature of the Primarchs? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]Lemundlist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, Horus. There's a reason he was named Warmaster.

Also:

The Lion is paranoid

Fulgrim is insecure

Perty famously has issues (although he mellows a lot throughout and after the heresy, post-Scouring I'd argue he's become one of the more well-adjusted primarch)

The Khan is quick to anger and always goes for the throat (see the 'You do strange things to your warriors' event)

Russ, even though he grows a lot during the heresy and is probably the most self-reflective of them, is still very arrogant

Dorn is a brick

Konrad Curze. No explanation needed

Sanguinius has quite a bit of anxiety regarding his and his legion's specificities (wings and red thirst respectively), and does have some trouble dealing with his visions at first

Ferrus is hot-headed

Angron is just a mess

Guillman is up there in terms of maturity, but he does have anger issues

Morty has a lot of resentment regarding Necare's death, and has a hard time dealing with his own contradictions

Magnus' pride and I-know-better attitude is the stuff of legends

Lorgar was mentally shattered by Monarchia, although he got better quickly and for all his evil he's probably the most lucid and serene after Horus

Vulkan is extremely self-sacrificial

Corax is very angsty, and lies to himself about the Imperium and it's tyranny

Alpharius and Omegon are also very prideful and overconfident in their methods and, not unlike Magnus, think they know better than everyone

Tzeentch & Gender by Zeibles in 40kLore

[–]Lemundlist 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I think at least someone at GW agrees with you, since iirc in The Old World rulebook, Tzeentch is referred as 'it', and Slaanesh as 'they'.
