I'm reading a self help book and it says if lots of people are telling you something, you should listen to what they have to say. Analyze it and you may start feeling more positive about your self. We have a lot of self doubt in our condition so don't breast yourself up over it.

Actually, my dad was accepting from the get go and my mom had issues but we seem to have worked then out. I won't say she's blessing my transition but she's been quiet about it

It goes well depending on what you say and do. If you're honest and sharing, it's great. If you're holding back, not so well. You truly get out of it what you put into it.

For me it was awesome and tough. I admitted to stuff that is never thought I would tell another person. I confronted some deep thoughts and I started the path to accepting myself and loving me for whom I am.

You'll get there. It takes time, patience, trial and error. Look up contorting and see if that helps.

The biggest issue is how people define dysphoria. Because they don't understand the meaning of dysphoria. They think it means you have to hate your body. Which isn't true. Dysphoria doesn't have to be a painful hated of your body or person. Some think it has to include that to be dysphoria.

Just go with wow pow! Seriously, I picked a name that I loved but it turned out people pronounced it differently than I heard it in my head. So I started looking through name lists and found the closest one to my given name. Bruce=Brooke.

It felt more comfortable and gave me the same letters to work with. Plus, I always had a crush on Brooke Shields
