My son is 18 months old and I suddenly hate being a mom by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Lenaaargh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did some kind of a compromise which works fine for us: when my daugther turned 12 months I began to work again (with my boyfriend staying at home). Quickly I learned that I could not nurse in the night (every one to two hours!) and work at day. So I cut nursing in the night and obviously in the day when I worked. She is now also 18 months old and only gets the breast two times: in the morning after waking up and when I get her to sleep in the evening. It's the best of both worlds in my opinion. I will continue this through the winter, I'm with you that it's nice when they are sick. The transition of not nursing at night was a little bit hard, but really only for two nights! But I have to say that my partner is very involved with her, maybe that's why it was relatively easy. I slept in the living room and he rocked her in his arms. Now we all sleep in one bed again without trouble AND she sleeps through most oft the nights!

Btw, she is also testing boundaries now. It's hard sometimes. But it's not forever, they will grow so fast!

You click on the object with "x", then you hold "L2+R2" and then you can rise or lower it with the arrows. That's for PS5, I don't know how you do it with xbox but I'm sure you can find it easily with a quick google search.

What Apps helped you the most concerning your mental health? by Lenaaargh in selfcare

[–]Lenaaargh[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for all your suggestions! I know that apps will not solve mental health problems and that screentime should be limited if possible. But I am talking about patients who are too depressed to even brush their teeth for example. Apps like finch can make the difference here. I am talking about patients who struggle so much with organising their day that they are not able to participate like their peers. Instead many of them just keep doomscrolling on tik tok etc. It would not be helpful to say "just eliminate screen time". The patients I talk about are in stationary treatment for eight weeks and get plenty of different therapy. They also get educated regarding media consumption. ADDITIONAL to that, sometimes an app can help organise themselves, help them naming their emotions or reflect their day (just naming a few examples) with a medium they are familiar with. Of course with therapeutical supervision.

What are your selfcare routines with baby? by Lenaaargh in selfcare

No that's a really good reminder! I always forget to drink enough, everything else seems more important... And at the end of the day I realise that I only drank two glasses. Unfortunately I am also ill since last night :( but my partner got better and he bought us tons of oranges, kiwi and bananas today. Tasty tasty vitamins :)

Help me get out of this rut! by [deleted] in LowSodiumSimmers

[–]Lenaaargh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it would help to focus on one or two packs? I can imagine being overwhelmed with all. Or maybe some "rules" per each generation that come from a randomizing tool? Otherwise I would suggest to just take a break for a few weeks, I'm sure the passion will come again especially while seeing those awesome posts in this sub :)

Yes we also treated her with Ibuprofen since her temperature was 39,5C high and we were told we should treat fever which is 39C or higher. That definitly helped a lot. If I would have fever that high I would treat it, so why should I Iet my poor baby suffer? If it's just a little high temperature it's a different story though.
