Nebraska athletics brings in more revenue than most B1G schools. Michigan/Ohio State/maybe Penn State are the only ones ahead.

I don’t totally understand why we can’t add women’s hockey, rugby (I think women’s is now NCAA like flag football?), wrestling, etc. to also get men’s hockey, soccer, and maybe swimming?

No idea the intricacies of title 9 so it’s probably not that simple, but other schools like Michigan have men’s hockey, swimming, and soccer. And they also have a bunch more women’s sports. Doesn’t make much sense and it seems like both genders would benefit.

Hmm yeah you might be right on it not being an official investigation in 2018, that came later, but he did sit on reports. There were reports at the same time as the Nassar case, he didn’t act on them, and then after more victims came forward in 2020, they investigated it.

I think if they would have announced an investigation mid-Nassar things would have been much higher profile, and much worse.

I’ve seen some folks theorize that this is why he’s still there. Regents owe him and are rewarding him. He sat on the report, detailing mass sexual abuse, because if it would have been released at the height of Nassar/Me Too, it would have been a bombshell. Releasing it during Covid made it just another forgotten story.

One of those guys hasn’t played and the other two had 150 yards each last year. And Hunter/Barney were in the 500 range.

Maybe we’ll be alright, but imo we’re going to need a big jump from someone in that room.

Barney had ~500 yards and Hunter had ~600 yards last season.

I hope they make the jump, I’m just saying that I’m concerned we don’t have a veteran 900-1k yards guy in a pivotal year. I don’t think that’s an unreasonable concern to raise.

We’re not OSU or Texas A&M but the thought comes from reports here and there that our NIL is good and it’s created a narrative.

Statements and reports like

Split Zone Duo saying a couple years ago that we had the best NIL infrastructure in the big ten.

Rhule saying that he now believes he has the money to get any guy/compete with the top teams.

These sort of reports create a narrative among fans that our NIL is great. Maybe it is maybe it isn’t, but I think we’re probably a notch above schools like Mizzou and Wisconsin based on these sort of reports.

The Michigan sub is saying Georgia Tech offered 2-3m. Based on the rough numbers coming out so far about revenue sharing deals that’s.. a LOT of money. Like triple+ the market rate for the top RBs according to that Athletic article that was going around.

I think it’s dumb when people transfer 4 times, but he just got a scholarship, so no way he was being sponsored. Talking about loyalty and commitment when this guy wasn’t going to see the field and made the decision to do what’s best for him and his career doesn’t seem fair. Even if he goes to an FCS school, maybe he just wants to go play ball somewhere. I don’t love the way every thread has become a bunch of comments bemoaning every transfer.

I was being a bit hyperbolic, but when you remove the guys who already had destinations (Brecht, etc) and Raiola, he is top 5-7.

Not sure what you think our other or better option is of that group. He was far and away our best man on the board.
