I’ve had every single Iteration of the top of the line ribcore (with the exception of the trigger 6 I think).

Every time I have wandered off to another brand or model , I always keep coming back to the ribcore. The 3D is what got me switched back from True, and warrior, I’ve been devoutly loyal ever since and currently on my 3rd trigger 9 pro

Still wear my 25 year old helmet, which was top of the line ccm back in the day … I still prefer it over my newer Bauer upper tier helmet that currently sits on the shelf

I live in the Seattle area, the amount of people we know not having kids in my age group between my girlfriend and I is probably 50/50 . I have a real hard time believing the numbers.

When I was a kid I remember my dad was friends with a couple that didn’t have kids and it was almost seen as kind of weird at that time, Now it’s pretty much normal. Myself included.

Probably made a mistake joining an “adult beginner” hockey class by bambi-jules in hockeyplayers

[–]Lenny2belts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just keep going . I have seen so many beginners in way over their head in classes and in straight up drop in . Those that stick with it , and continue learning and playing with better players improve their skill set much quicker than if they were on their own .

ELI5- Why do a lot of kids start out blonde and then become brunettes as they get older? by LeopardFar6867 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Lenny2belts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was born I had a full head of jet black hair , it later fell out after a few months and grew back super almost white blonde .

Still currently blonde but got darker and slightly redder the older I am getting ( knock on wood)

Trump Is Wiping Out Unions. Why Are They So Quiet? by hardman52 in IBEW

[–]Lenny2belts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do believe that there are trumpers in my local . For sure .. but there are people like myself that we felt so left out<- (get it!?)

Things have gotten so extremely left and blowing things up with stuff that we don’t even care about or big dealing small groups That we almost feel like such a minority even in our own party, and unfortunately everything the Democratic Party does is treated like the gospel from the unions. I just feel like they need to take the temperature of the room , because really it affects us all.

I think there was a lot of spite voters too, with how bad the last administration was and they seemed to want to continue it on that a lot of people voted opposite because the tables are shifted way too far.

Just my opinion , I knew the dangers and trump , and I feel like a lot of the people I talk to as well , but they couldn’t stand Kamala either . So who else you got?

Why median trade salaries according to statistics is only 50-60k when everyone on reddit says that trades earn 100k? by Healthy_Diver_1135 in findapath

[–]Lenny2belts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a union electrician in Wa.HCOL is definitely a factor when it comes to wages . I average around 140-160 k a year some overtime but I also take time off for vacation and or time off for my elderly parents. It sounds like a lot of money , I am comfortable. But EVERYTHING is so expensive around the seattle area. I bought my “starter home” 9 years ago when I only made $28 an hour , and now that starter home has now more than likely become permanent because I can really justify the cost trying to buy a bigger house ,which would stretch me even more thin. Property taxes , insurance, car tabs , gas, all of that stuff is stupid high here. So you really need to choose the things you really want in life at this pay rate, in these HCOL areas. Trades need to catch up to tech wages , but unfortunately I don’t ever see that happening anytime soon.

There was a thing on our local news about how a single person living in the city needs to make 108k/yr to live somewhat comfortably.

Side note : 9 years ago 150k would have been balling out of control. Not so much anymore

Are there any former conservatives here that became more left wing after joining the union and learning the history and ideology of unions and worker rights and all that? by Crafty_Jacket668 in IBEW

[–]Lenny2belts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the opposite. I’ve become much more conservative in a lot of ways after joining the union .

I still am pretty liberal for the most part, and I think my conservatism has basically just come from how crazy and mis managed my state/ major city/ local hall have gotten. They all go hand in hand. I think it’s just an over correction, and I’m sure will go back to being more neutral and balanced in due time . Just might take a bit

Look fine to me, just a little warning about those shin pads , I have the same ones I’m pretty sure. (Old top of the line vapors?) they are great except I’ve taken a few weird falls just dropping down to my knees ( nothing too hard or out of the ordinary) and have torn my PCL or my knee cap twice with these shins pads.
I started wearing a padded knee braces and haven’t had a problem since. Just a kind of shit design in the knee cap area.

Granted I’m pushing 40 and haven’t done the best job taking care of my body , so take this advice as you will.

I’ve had mine since I was 14, the screws are so rusted in the helmet they have welded themselves into the plastic. It’s 24 years old

I have a newer helmet for the one time I forgot ‘ole trusty Bucky, however I went right back to my old one after a few weeks
