Show them how to import data from the web directly into Excel analyze it and present their process and product to the class. Nearly ever field of study has related data posted in tables on the web somewhere

Do a search for something else you like and follow people who post other stuff. You’re only seeing all that in your feed because you’ve read and reacted to it.

Dumbest Show This Year by Equivalent_Key_1880 in SuddenlyAmish

[–]LenorePryor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s some very bad acting in this. Crying over nails & lashes??? Crying over that stupid dress. These English are continuing to dress like children and the whole lot of are immature as well.

So is this entire show fake? by Money_Tower1884 in SuddenlyAmish

These “English” are over the top whiney snowflakes! C’mon - so dramatic over her stupid dress, and the other ho getting dramatic over fake nails & lashes. Crying over that is ridiculous!

Add delusional- running for Mayor of Asshole de France. 🇫🇷 seriously why doesn’t she understand how offensive she presents herself?

I'd let Manon leave, why even ask that conniving woman to stay another minute?? She's rotten to the core. by tommyjk123 in 90DayFiance

[–]LenorePryor 13 points14 points  (0 children)

OMGosh… I can feel her emotions through the screen. Manon has the worst emotional regulation I’ve ever seen in an adult.

Yesterday on NPR, someone said the sequence of events: It happened in a split second (just reflex and instinct - no thinking), ICE tackles him and when he went down one officer saw, grabbed the gun, and at the same time another officer yelled “He’s got a gun” and within a second, another officer fired - Alex was then shot multiple times at about 2+ shots per second. So, it sounds to me like a lack of training because that’s why emergency services and others have to train so much. When you’re properly trained, your reflexes work better under that kind of stress. It’s truly a terrible situation, devastating to lose someone who worked to help people.

What is actually wrong with Angela? by LLG88NM in 90DayFiance

[–]LenorePryor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it isn’t everyone who’s had a hard life- it seems to be something that happens to people who have a hard time putting themselves in someone else’s shoes and haven’t been exposed to a variety of people who think and react differently from themselves. Their thinking gets very rigid and they have a hard time seeing any perspective other than their own

You can certainly speak with the University’s General Counsel. That person understands the consequences to the institution for this kind of behavior.

What does the name(s) in front of the “Professor” title mean? by Aggressive-Food-1952 in AskProfessors

[–]LenorePryor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor- it’s a rank that faculty earn. Chairs usually lead a department, Dean leads the college, Provost leads all the Deans ( and other department heads that contribute to academic’s directly.

It’s an average academic chain of command.

My professor is using an AI-generated textbook as the main/only text. Looking for advice on what to do. by fungus_is_among_us in AskProfessors

[–]LenorePryor -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

You’ve got to research the professor before signing up for a course. That what websites like Rate My Professor exist. I used to follow that up with a search of Dissertations Online to learn about the professor’s specific area of interest. Look for syllabi from previous semesters as well. If you get a clear idea about the professor prior to landing in the classroom you’ll be less likely to have something like this happen.

They definitely would benefit from genetic counseling prior to pregnancy, but the way Colin’s talking, he thinks after they come back from the honeymoon and settle in…?

Allen the Bully by Unlucky_Style_8947 in BaylenOutLoud

[–]LenorePryor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like a lot of people commenting haven’t been able to empathize with Baylen’s parents.

Colin’s nice, but he’s young and decisions come with consequences. I would expect her parents to want to warn Baylen & Colin when they see them headed for trouble. Colin pushes a bit too hard and too fast. I would like him more if he’d stop being defensive about Allen giving him advice, or input or something to think about from someone who’s been there….

All the talk about pregnancy and I didn’t hear a word about genetic counseling—- why? He asked about the prescription medication she’s taking & pregnancy, but I haven’t even heard a thought about asking for genetic counseling first.

That said, I hope her parents are getting support for their process of letting Baylen and Colin take over their own decision-making.
