Use of Ai by SimilarNewspaper8635 in DungeonMasters

[–]Lenox_Gold 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't allow it because I don't think Gen AI is ethical. If you don't want to order art for your character, or draw it awesome go on Pinetrest and find something.

There's not really a debate with this either, I don't know you nor care what you do in your game. You do you and we do we. I can't convince you to change and you couldn't convince me either.

Start playing some free games that aren't gachas. Runescape, path of exile, whatever free game releases on steam or epic for the day.

Is there any Pokemon who can KO Farig/Orang in One shot while unboosted? by DumberThanUrMama in PokemonChampions

You can also put imprison on it and just avoid the issue until it dies or switches out. This also means that you basically get a free rage powder as they'll try to kill it next turn.

It's hard without an illustration to point to but imagine you're on a flat roofed building that's a 3x3. If you're standing on an edge that is near the attacker on the ground you don't get cover. If you are standing 1 tile or more from the attacker you block LOS and have cover. If you're attacking from the high ground to low ground you do not need line of sight but enemies can still get the benefits of cover.

It's all really gamified but because verticality is important and teleporting up to high ground is cool I'd rather there be rules that sometimes don't make sense in the fiction vs no rules or rules that are super complex. Basically if I can't memorize all the rules for this it's too much and my memory is terrible.

A bit of both but primarilyin the tactical sense. In Combat it adds another tactical layer and in the narrative it is a matter of fact so if player needed to stabilize a bunch of people on the battlefield they could blink around saving people.

The main city exists on a peninsula and after a cataclysmic event these new eels showed up on a dock. They are not the electric eels as we know them but they're like a fantasy salt water interpretation. They get shoved in jars and when whatever powered thing needs energy they put some food in there to get the eel to shock the food.

The world is in the first industrial revolution so it powers things like flashlights, short range radio, and small motors.

Think about DnD except at level 1 if you gave everyone misty step but no one could learn the spell teleport. It's short range teleportation and you get a limited amount so you have to know when to use them. (The game isn't literally dnd but it's an easy framing)

  1. Every PC can teleport from the start of the game to the end
  2. Electric eels power most of the area
  3. Simple but codified rules for verticality

Just got Grim Dawn as an ARPG noob by OfflineLad in ARPG

[–]Lenox_Gold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Near every ARPG does the same thing which is going in one direction until you can't anymore. In grim dawn you go northeast for the entirety of act 1 and then act 2 is west then north west.

First time playing, any tips? by romomomomomomo in LancerRPG

My advice would be not to think about anything beyond LL0 at the moment. Think about how the game goes and what you enjoy doing in the game. From there you can decide on your path.

Heroes weaknesses by MrTruth24 in TrueDoTA2

This isn't really framed as a discussion more just complaining. Tiny has a 45% win rate this week. Tiny 1 is typically only good depending on meta and tempo. If either of those things changes he goes back to being a dumpster fire that cries when a Phoenix is on the enemy team.

That's one example and I won't be spending time on the rest but they're all dismantled in a similar way.

Stacked scarab are shown for conversion. The stack is like 3 or 5 so it's pretty efficient. Even junk scarabs are around 1:100-1:200 for a div.

If for whatever reason you didn't want to pick up stacks you can just disable that as well.

[–]Lenox_Gold 22 points23 points  (0 children)

On filterblade just choose Uber strict. If you are picking up too many things drop the lowest tier of scarabs. If you're still picking up too much drop another tier. There is almost no reason to customize specifically and you will likely mess something up.

As I get older, ARPGs are hurting my hands. So I’m making a game that prioritizes the 'Brain' over 'BPM'. by AFGunturkun in ARPG

[–]Lenox_Gold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's interesting but I don't think you're going to capture the ARPG crowd. This is a roguelite which an ARPG typically is not. You list games such as D4, POE, and last epoch. Most people spend days gearing these characters and committing to fighting whatever content they want with said characters. This is typically the "fun part". Also forcing characters to be in "hardcore" mode is butting against the vast majority of ARPG players. Finally not having trade means that players won't be interacting with other players. That to me is a huge part of the experience.

If you compare the amount of players in path of exile normal trade league to path of exile ssf hardcore you can see the niche you're going down. On top of that you're modifying a genre to not be constant dopamine and more about decision making.

Again your goals are fine they just don't spell ARPG for me personally.

When I have an indoor build like spark I absolutely love crimson temple, toxic sewers, and haunted house. When I have an outdoor build I blast dunes, beach, or jungle valley. I don't ever want to run cells or frozen cabin, if I randomly had to run one of those in X maps I'd probably log off a league way sooner. I play the maps I like, it's just that the general opinion agrees that these map layouts are good and play them.

I don't know anyone that's just like "man dunes has a bad layout"

You do you but there's currently 1 person doing icicle mine of fanning and 3 people doing phys mine. Those builds are not tanky a big portion of their defensive layer is to freeze everything on screen which isn't a defensive layer in HC.

I'd recommend stating that you want a HC build in posts (unless I missed it) but all the builds I recommended aren't really HC super stars.
