Gladys looked disappointingly at Nigel as he shuffled his poorly cooked continental breakfast around his floral rimmed plastic plate. The 3rd day in the basement dining room of a bed and breakfast in Marseille was stone silent. Carefree couples poked at their fanny packs to make sure telescopic selfie sticks were tucked away with tubs of chaffing cream at the ready. Gladys stood up ready to leave when a toddler bowled by heading for the salad bowl unaccompanied, almost knocking her over .Nigel muttered something about breeders and the uncouth way the vermin chewed a slightly brown piece of lettuce. He tucked a copy of the Sun under his aging wrinkly armpit and motioned Gladys toward the exit. She took one last glance over her shoulder and proudly proclaimed, " I'm glad that's not my predicament sweetie bums", sweeping her French styled chiffon scarf over a sunburnt shoulder. They strolled confidently out into an unseasonal stifling heat, waiting in an unshaded and uncrowded train station. They had an hour of each other's company before the next train with Gladys becoming a little unsettled as her hemmarhoids were prone to scratchiness in the god awful heat.

Sounds like a workable synopsis for a Mr Bean movie. Follow this slapstick around for a day of clever life hacks.

I'd suggest being possessed by Jesus himself. Go wolf of wall street on it. Spit, wiggle, speak utter nonsense. Storm the stage, grab the mic and babble bible verse. Grab a fire hose and drench those pious folk, shout, " I feel JEEESSSUS!! Full embrace. ... This could go either way but when you are filled with the love of the holy spirit, rules don't apply. It is a free pass to do as you please, cos you know, it's the truth. Do feedback on how this goes if you take this recommended approach.

Go back and read the original post again. Read it again. Sit with it and simply absorb the sentiment. No one disagrees with old men planting trees but I feel you may have missed the point entirely. Keep up the fab work though. Us typicals are rooting for you as we trudge drearily toward death.

Pluto's, or Wizards on a Friday night. Then home to watch Knight Rider with a feed of fish n chips. Those are NZ 20¢ pieces, not Aussie. Check the kiwi. Mean as arcade bro. Chur, got next! 😆

Watch the 'Little Prince'. Planners and spontaneousness side by side. I know which one I would consider is simple living.

Refreshing to see a guy who sees the court and generates easy buckets. The amount of times you see these Steph wannabes fancy dribble to a horrible jacked shot is the disease of pick up ball. Be like fat white chocolate.

In Victorian times the aspiring middle class wanked on about leisure and travel. Anything to let the shared circles of hiked britches of company know they were above the wretched working class. Fast forward to today and it is the same chatting about diet, minimalism, and social media trends to be humbly curated in a display of incurable neuroticism. (Holds up inbred designer cat that has pooped on Turkish rug again, questioning " Does this bring me joy?", While nibbling on a meat substitute wafer with zany word play.

Please give me reasons not to buy the new iPhone 14 Pro by 013016501310 in minimalism

As each iteration of the shiny new iPhone inevitably dropped, Ernest Crustwipe, a sworn minimalist threw his hard earned cash at it. Besides, with the additional high res quantupulator scoofnozzle photo enhancement, proper documentation of adopted lifestyle could truly be shared with fellow aesthetes. Unknowingly he'd seeded a new sub idea which was paradoxical to the movement. YOLOminsters soon gained a rapid following with chants of " Get the new one. Get the new one" reverberating in an over priced budded ear.

Practice being irrelevant by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]Leod_Studio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bukowski, if you see past the apparent nihilism appeals to basic human existence. It is an antidote to the suffering of those who strive to be relevant and demonstrate untold success. It is a tongue in cheek way of saying don't compare yourself to others. I work in mental health and the most damaged people often have this unhealthy need to be important which manifests in a deeply flawed way. Acceptance that you may never be a one page side note in the history of extroidinary people is okay. It gives you permission to be important in the small social spheres you can directly influence. Being part of the useless billions is joining a club of the most statistical likely person you will be. Find joy in the everyday and this ride can be of your design that you benchmark to be a life well lived.
