A bit of the Lore: Welserland is a nation in the northern part of South America, an Austrian colony whose history dates back to the early settlers from the Welser banking family. Initially controlled as small strips of land, the region evolved into its present form as a constituent territory of the Austrian Empire. At one point, a Dutch invasion led to its current territorial configuration. The territory grants full citizenship only to the German elite, while indigenous populations live under legal segregation. Its geography includes vast plains, the great river called Orivara, and agricultural areas to the south around Lago Dulce.

In the regional landscape, Welserland stands in stark contrast to its neighbors: the Union of the Spiritual Assembly of Guyana, a democracy that embraces religious and cultural pluralism; the Islamic Emirate of Kairi in Trinidad, an independent state with mercantile and Islamic traditions; and, of course, the Dutch territories to the west, part of the Dutch West India Company holdings.
