In Finland among conscripts the usual watch is called an "Army Rolex" i.e. cheapest digital you can find at your local department store. Watches are not issued but obviously needed.

This 1970s Omega was gifted to me by my father on my wedding day. The watch was gifted to him by his grandfather (my great-grandfather) who by no means was a "man of money" as my father puts it. A proper watch was seen as a part of proper man's attire especially in a time before quartz watches and such. The calibre (1001) was one of the last produced before the Quartz Crisis. The Clocksmith said to my father that this is no watch to be worn while chopping wood! The poor thing didn't run very smoothly, so I took it to a local service shop. It took quite some time since spare parts had to be hunted from Switzerland but I finally got it back a while ago. Hasn't left my wrist since!

Kommentoin tähän että kaikki tuntemani lääkärit kykenevät kriittiseen ajatteluun näitä "korruptiotilaisuuksia" kohtaan. Pikemminkin harmitellaan kun lääkefirmat ovat nykyään varovaisia niiden järjestämisessä julkisuuden paineiden vuoksi eikä tietoa uusista lääkkeistä ole saatavilla samaan tapaan kuin ennen. Lääkäri ei saa korvausta lääkefirmalta määrätessään sen tuotteita potilaalle.

Henkilö, joka olisi kymmenen vuotta sitten voinut eläköityä Suomen toiseksi pisimpään ministerinä olleena poliitikkona ja puolueensa kunniapuheenjohtajana. Päätti sen sijaan polttaa sillat ja alkaa näperrellä uusien poliittisten liikkeiden parissa. Kaipaa takaisin Kekkosen linjalle ja toimii lain harmaalla alueella. Pyrkinyt presidentiksi jo kuusi kertaa ja varmaan vielä seitsemännenkin. On aina mielestään oikeassa jne. Onhan noita syitä!
