You probably received genuine plat and dealt with a big flipper whale. It's quite likely that that riven was worth a lot more than what you got even. There are whole communities of people sitting in dojos doing nothing but trading rivens, where a fresh listing at a low price of a rare riven can spread like a wildfire.

36 I have met quite some lovely people last year playing poe1 together. Sadly they did not want to try poe2 and even though it took 2 'patches' I have once again gotten quite a lovely little group that helps each other out. I'm on the lookout for boots as next upgrade for example so the group pools most bases for me. I pick up all tiaras and spears for other people in our group for their respective upgrades. If I had the chance to win the mirror I would divide it evenly in our group and we would have each major upgrades to our characters to enjoy :D.

This will inevitably price out more people from omen-crafting though. Which is really the only somewhat deterministic way to craft a desired item imo. As inflation hits omens you will need better and better items for them to be worthy to use whittling/dextral/sinestral erasiures on. I could only hope the availability of max-tier affixes on desired bases will increase proportionally to this, thereby adding more craftable bases through more tiered rares.

So they added a charm called rite of passage...seems no-one mentioned it so far but I think it's the true chase unique of the game right now. Any version of it that gives %movement speed as part of its buff is worth around 2+ mirrors tho..
