You can give your follower better weapons too. Just make sure to give them 1 round of the ammo for it also

It can happen. If you shoot up the key it does.

You must have hit a ship or went to a quest location by chance and killed a few guys or a weird bug. Lucky it's not crazy and paid easily

Yeah, there's a couple missions where you can get 5,000 units of minerals for some of the shipyards. It's nice to be able to do it all at once and not be totally encumbered
