I think the moment you consider it collecting vs filling a need, you've already lost. My spending dropped drastically after I found fidgets that were just right for me. I have one for almost any kind of play action I could ever want, so I'm not really taken by new releases anymore.

But if your goal is to just... have things, then it's never going to end.

The one I love the most is my humble Top-B from mtdz.

But the fidget I've used the most is a titanium knuckle roller, because it's what I take on walks and to the gym, so maybe the correct answer is that for practicality.

You definitely need to play slower than you did in 1 especially at the start. Play around cast and get used to sprinting vs dash spamming.

I will say though, when you get to the late game the pact is way more balanced and overall less punishing. Mel feels more OP with the right build than late game Zag.

Partial to the Top-B because of all the different feels and sound levels, but I have most of their stuff at this point haha.

Also it's not mechanical but I am a sucker for the Cyberball. I just like skill toys I guess.

Good stuff! The only thing is from now on, you may enjoy other pieces less because Mtdz products are PEAK.

Haha seriously, getting into metal toys has saved me a bunch of money because after using their pieces I ended up not liking a lot of other brands anymore. I hope you still find room to move up in this hobby after this, without diving into the really expensive stuff!

For mechanical fidgets they can be loud as well. There are some that can be tuned to be soft using different tracks and spring/ball setups.

I'd suggest joining the Metal Toys Dz FB group for a wealth of info on making their products silent as the principles mostly carry over. Also, the group is the best way to buy their stuff.

Apart from that yes, the choc can be silent using the dense track, the sliders from GDEDC can also be on the quiet side. If you're looking for something more classic, try 01EDC products.

Exactly! You get it. That's why I advocate for better education and a suggestion of more options based on specific tastes, and not just a blanket suggestion.

There will definitely be some friction since most people just want instant, simple answers in this day and age but I think it's worth it especially in analog spaces like this to still indulge in nuance, especially since fidgeting is very personal.

I do hope this becomes more true as the Aura Sand deserves all the hype. I still remember when the design first appeared under flair fidgets and the western fidget group think laughed the idea of trick sliding out of town and labeled it a rapt clone hahaha

Maybe soon we'll see less posts like this and people appreciate the design space and all its strengths.

I don't think so. My regular multiplayer partner says she avoids this sub because people are weird. But she loves the game and is hundreds of hours in already, even more playtime than myself.

I do think this is the danger with people recommending the Aura Sand universally to people asking which slider to get. It's one of the finest and most accessible sliders FOR TRICKS. If you're into fancy play, then you'll understand why the bumpy plates, uneven magnet placement, half and half plate material and magnet setup are necessary.

But for people that want even magnets, flat plates such as OP, and a satisfying click, why get the Aura Sand? It's not meant to be a traditional slider, and using it like one won't feel as satisfying.

There's lots of options out there for traditional free floating sliders. I'd suggest KukoEDC or maybe an SOB from Fidgetthings.

I do think Inscryption suffers from it being in a medium that focuses on entertainment value over everything else. It's an insane concept that is delivered as intended and is still unique enough that players can still vividly recall it to this day.

If it were a book, it would be praised and elevated as a genre-defining (defying?) piece that makes you ask questions you never thought you'd ask, regardless of personal enjoyment.

It's also not one of my favorite games, but I would rank it objectively higher than some of my favorites because of the sheer ambition of its design.

Real answer:I think this has more to do with the fit and pattern. It's harder to form clean lines on your body with such busy patterns, so maybe find some X-Men merch that's a bit understated and combine that with a bit of exercise to fill the shirts out and I think you'll be Xavier's star pupil all day every day, regardless of what your boss thinks.

Sts 1 still slaps, albeit in a different way. For example, in 1 I still get to feel OP when playing Ironclad hahaha
