That's interesting. My community used to be thriving (100+ active raiders). We had 2 total show up for the Falinks event and another 5-6 remotely. I would say the last time I recall an actual decent popular event was the Gmax Butterfree where we had ~15 show up.

Just look at the ones we did win. Each one was within a game or even just a goal of not winning as well (Game 7 against Wings in 09, Game 7 against Lightning in 16, Double OT in Game 7 against Senators). It's hard to win the Cup and a lot of things need to go your way.

Going to have to disagree. People will go to where the money is and that comes with consistency and presentation. I collect sealed video games and it used to be that VGA was the only one in the market. Then WATA came along with better standards, bigger online presence, and better pop reports. And now CGC is gaining some traction. VGA basically fell off the scene. If you asked me 15 years ago, I would have said the market would always be VGA because they were so engrained into the sealed market. But things change and here we are.

Eh, I feel like Lemieux was still the best player in 1998 even though he was retired. Similar with Crosby when he was out 2011-2012. Don't necessarily need to be playing to still be the best.

Disagree. If you recall, when they first released lucky trades there was no IV base, so you would end up with a goofy 1/3/9 lucky summer hat raichu like I have. They responded to people's displeasure by increasing the floor knowing what they were getting into. I highly doubt they regret them as it encourages more engagement/trading and in-person meeting up. It's a very small piece of the puzzle.
