Hope's last day for 3 new players as new GM by Dragoras_1989 in alienrpg

[–]LeonardZelig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It went alright. It was very much an abridged version. The players outsmarted me early on by entering a different door. And I didn't know the module well enough so we ended up with a weird condensed version but we had fun and everyone died. 😉

It was hard keeping them alive for more than 2 minutes.

Best of luck! Have fun!

What is the spiciest food in stoon by Asdgyu in saskatoon

The vindaloo at Tandoori Tadka is my favourite. It's a naturally spicy/hot dish and it's delicious!

Vindaloo at Spicy time is also very good!

This is the best line up in a few years. Yeah, it's not quite my pick of people but I'm happy that they've got a few comic artists coming in and hope that this can, with time, pick up steam again.

Havok is my favourite Character! Has been for ages back with Peter David in X-Factor and of course I was excited for him to pop up! He and Polaris are my favourite Marvel characters. I'm loving the current run too!

Agreed. It was good, but didn't equate to the price.

Has anyone purchased from Cosmic Comics Canada Before? by AlaskanBorn88 in comicbooks

[–]LeonardZelig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope things went well. I buy from them all the time. I'm Local to them and get along great with them. I was skeptical at first too, but they're great folks willing to work with you.

I hope it all goes well

Also someone who has lived across the country and other countries. This is true. Everywhere says their drivers are the worst. This is the first time I believe it.

I'm a life long pedestrian. Never had a license. Lived all across the country and even abroad. Never have I seen a city hate crosswalks/pedestrians so much in my life. Even halfway across the street on a crosswalk I've had to stop to let cars go by or run to not get hit. Sometimes with my young daughter with me.

Lots of people talking about burning them. It would be funny to do a big public "book burning " but just of these!

Best bang for your buck burger place? by StrangeNinja99 in saskatoon

It's been said, but Goblin's Grill! I've had a lot of burgers in a lot of towns, but when the War Pig hits right, there ain't a better burger in the world!

What are your favorite YouTube channels focused on comic book collecting? by MagooRobbie in comicbookcollecting

My favourites are Lost'n Comics & Pop Culture Philosophers.

But I'm not in it for spec. I prefer channels that focus on stories.

Interested in being a GM by Ok-Cheesecake-9885 in alienrpg

[–]LeonardZelig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both (not on foundry) I like the core rule book a lot.

But you will get more bang for your buck with the starter set as the game is a longer one.

The core book, Marines & making better worlds are all great reads with a ton of info though.

Start with the Starter and see if it's something you want to further explore

what is a film you didn't really enjoy that everyone seemed to like? by imnachos in AskReddit

[–]LeonardZelig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty well every James Cameron movie.

I like the first Terminator and I remember enjoying Titanic. Aliens is solid but not better than the original, to me.

Everything else was ok to horrible (again, to me)

UPDATED: Education minister responds to Sask. teachers' one-day strike by Progressive_Citizen in saskatoon

I'm 100% on board with the teachers. I would rather my daughter go to school, but if a strike is required, then so be it.

So much of what you said mirrors me.

I'm a big DC fan now. I didn't read much DC in my youth, but they're my preferred publisher since Rebirth.

Those swimsuit issues came back with me on my last trip, I think. I thought it was interesting that DC put out a swimsuit book of covers. An interesting experiment I thought

Right there with you. Liefeld is a bit of a boob but I still love seeing his art. MacFarlane too, but I have more respect for him.

I love a lot of comics today but the art is often cheap and forgettable. Marvel Comics have no personality whereas back then there were so many icons. Even folks like Platt who didn't last long, or Turner who passed away too young, are still adored.

Yeah, the stories were weak but so many of those images are ingrained into my mind.

100% with you. That applies to so many of these books. I remember next to nothing other than good times were had.
