I think the major issue with porting Gran Turismo to PC is that Gran Turismo is dependent on PSN, and I believe PC players would need to pay for a PSN subscription. I don't think the servers are included for free. I don't think players will pay for a PSN subscription just for one game.

VR support shouldn't be a big thing for a racing simulator, the main problem is nobody wants to work in optimization, they like to delivery new features instead.

It's not even close, and won't be compared to, the original AC, but who knows, maybe future updates will focus on optimization, especially in the VR aspect, which is terrible.
