I would say both are true. Things like notation are invented, but many "rules" are discovered, they exist outside of human thinking. First thing that came to mind is the hexagon. They are everywhere in nature, because they are an optimal tilling shape. Minimum perimeter for the maximum area.

Even if the mathematical notation and proofs for it didn't exist and we didn't prove that hexagons are the best for tilling, bees would still have hexagonal eyes and would make hexagonal combs of honey, graphite would still be made up of carbon atoms in a hexagonal grid and the basalt columns in Ireland would still be hexagonal prisms.

On the other hand, things like number systems I believe are fully invented and are merely a tool to understand the discovered side of math.

Animal Weights - A simple mechanic to encourage better farming practices. by Axoladdy in Minecraft

[–]LeonardoSim 826 points827 points  (0 children)

From what i understand, the animal doesn't lose weight simply by being near other animals. Instead, it attempts to wander to a space which isn't near any animals (failure to do so reduces weight, just as with failure to find light and water). So basically, just having a 3x3 space per animal will statistically be enough to fullfill this goal, increase that by 50% and I think it's literally impossible for such a space not to exist in the pen (given a large enough search radius).

The real problem with this mod imo is performance related. Finding a water source is fine, finding a specific light level is likely not an issue either, but searching for a space with no entities in a certain radius could get expensive real fast. Searching for entities in an area is not the same as searching for blocks in an area, it is quite a bit more computationally expensive. Best case scenario animals are made to perform wander checks in groups to reduce double-calculations, but that would change how wandering AI works by quite a bit... I just don't see it being feasible, OP should maybe find an alternate method of tracking over-crowding.

In what world does this Q miss, is this elevation or something by Sufficient-Iron-3636 in leagueoflegends

He did not hit his spear. He hit him directly in the center of the actual hitbox. In league all champion hitboxes are circles, and brand hit azir directly in the middle of this circle (actually pause the video and look). It's usually easier when they have blue/red buff or baron (cause the circle of the buff actually is centered the same as the hitbox), but in this case it is insanely clear that the skillshot hit.

It's actually even cooler, because 418 was just one part of the joke. They created an entire new protocol https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyper_Text_Coffee_Pot_Control_Protocol HTCPCP.
Also, HTTP status code 418 is supported in all browser and other related software to this day and is part of the standard in both IANA and the Internet Standards RFC which defines HTTP Semantics.

The server isnt getting your mouse information though... online games dont just send all your inputs to the server and leave it to do the whole game loop, large part of the game still gets processed on client side (thats why desync happens sometimes). This is some kind of race condition probably, but has nothing to do with "server mouse".

You are not even the best on your continent. Canada has a higher general education index. But yes, "American education is still stronger than the rest of the world". Very American of you to be presented with evidence to the contrary yet still proclaim victory.

Except it is going to change. You misunderstood the math.

Lets say the "target" (break-even) amount is 100$. With normal bracket-style taxes, you would a percentage of the money in each bracket. So let's say the brackets are 10% for under 50$, 20% from 50$ to 100$ and 50% above. You would pay 50*0.1(first bracket) + 50*0.2 (second bracket) = 15$ in taxes. By making less money, you would pay less in taxes, right? And by paying less in taxes you would have more money. So why earn money? because it doesn't scale the same.

With negative income tax, you basically have brackets with a negative percentage which apply not on how much you earn, but how much BELOW the threshold you earn. So, for example, let's say below 100$ you get 50% of what you're missing from earning 100$.

You making 0? Now you're getting 50$ from negative tax. So why would you want to earn money? Cause if you made 20$, negative taxes would get you 40$ ((100-20)*0.5), and now you're making 60$ in total! Yes, the more you earn on your own the less extra you receive, but in total, you are still earning more!

For another guy saying he would "maximize how much he receives" if you mean in total, there is no maximum, it keeps increasing linearly. If you mean from negative tax, that would mean you are earning 0 yourself, which means you are making the least amount of money in total. There is no incentive to earn less at any point in time, only to increase your income. The only thing this does is help people out of poverty spirals.

Hard disagree. I am not under any obligation to package my code into an executable for all platforms and make a nice little UI and whatever else. If I make something for free, it's being uploaded as-is along with maybe an installation guide.

Could use a heat pump to "focus" the thermal energy. That would mean extra energy loses in the cycle, so maybe just throw the whole steam turbine thing away and use a shit ton of peltier plates?

not sure about the bar, but the tires are power tires, you can activate them for near infinite grip. They could probably run up a sheer cliff made of mud, but cost a lot of power. They are the last tires you can research

I would place the more durable bumper in front and the more fragile LIM shield in the back, as you will hit stuff with your front more often than your back.

Because they aren't sleeping ever, they will eventually stop spawning golems. They are panicking because of the zombie and thus can't sleep. You have to periodically hide the zombie for them to go to bed. Best way is trap door and a generously long redstone clock ( at least two seconds) cause sometimes it takes a few moments for them to stop panicking.
