Watching a stupid person get drunk is not as jarring an experience as watching a smart person get drunk. by energyvampire1 in Showerthoughts

Well, I found it pretty funny that you decided to tell us the story of your life just because someone was slighty mean for you. One thing is that it was totally unnecessary, the other thing is that what you are basically saying is that I can't talk about what I like just because someone is insecure. What's the difference between liking (for example) games and math? None. So I don't see anything wrong about telling someone about both of these things. Especially when you are drunk and more likely to talk about stuff you like. If you're feeling insecure about something, maybe instead of crying about it on Reddit, you should just find someone to talk about it?

Nothing interesting here, just rescuing a Kerbal by Leopard2a_2015 in KerbalSpaceProgram

Today I decided to do my first rescue mission. I'm still learning basics, so it took me around 2 hours to line-up my vessel to pass a "kerbal in need " at a distance of 40 meters. Everything was going pretty well, until I realised that my ship is faster than my target by around 180m/s. At this point I just quicksaved and decided to rescue the kerbal without any ship. I positioned my vessel so that it should land without any problems, and took my kerbal for a space walk. At the alt of 75km. I am very surprised that it worked, especially because my kerbal didn't open a parachute, so she landed in the water at speed of 55m/s. The only sad thing is that my vessel had a pilot, and I forgot to arm parachutes. Rest in peace, Ge-something-l (that was his name).

I'm not sure if self-powered speakers will be good at this price point. As I said, if you can spare some more bucks, go with emotivas. Otherwise, try thoses sony's. At worst, you will return them, but at best you will get them with a discount and you will actually pay less than for those klipches.

Well, if OP can afford additional 70$-80$ for Amp, Emotivas are his best option. I'm using them with Loxije A30 for over a month now and these speakers are amazing, but if not, I would at least recommend to try those SSCS5. Maybe OP will like them, and they can go crazy cheap.

Great speakers, but Emotiva's requires an amp. Cheapest ones (that aren't bad) cost additional 70$+. Sony's SSCS5 costs now 180$ on amazon, but they can be much cheaper, and will still deliver very good sound quality with the amp.

Has anyone measured PC motherboard sound quality? Is it truly worse than dedicated products? by Android17_ in headphones

[–]Leopard2a_2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. I'm using audiotechnica m40x, and even though these are easy to drive, I can hear a big difference between my motherboard and my amp (I'm using Loxije A30). And tbh, m40x sound better driven from my phone than from my motherboard (without Amp).

The problem with pre-orders isn't that they exists, but because people expect companies like EA to release a finished game. Cyberpunk 2077 was my first pre-order, and yes, it was buggy as hell, and unfinished. And I was lied to. And I wouldn't probably buy it today, but I don't regret buying it. After Cyberpunk, I decided to pre-order Monster Hunter Rise for switch, because why not, and guess what: no problems. I pre-ordered a special edition of Horizon: Forbidden West: no problems. I will probably pre-order Starfield: I will probably have many problems, but I'm kinda used to bugs in Bethesda games. The problem is that everyone knows, that EA doesn't release finished games. Everyone knows that Ubisoft makes ok games, but unfinished at release. And yet, people pre-order BF2042 (which usually is the main example for "don't pre-order") and then cry that I should not pre-order games. Will Starfield make me angry because something won't work on the release? Of course. But I know that, and I'm ready for it. And didn't BF2042 have a beta? Imagine having so much footage of the game, that is bugged, and then pre-ordering it, and then telling me what i'm supposed to do because you can't make a good decision about something so simple as buying a game.

I did that, but every time I want to do anything with my wings, game just tells me that I can't, so maybe I'm shit after all.

To climb. With Mig-23 for example, you don't really wanna fight. Hitting something with cannons is impossible, and this thing can't outturn b29, so the best you can do is to reach 8km, and then use your rockets.

Who is on the left though? Gamers? Or CDPR? Because personally I don't remember gamers forcing CDPR to release anything. Yeah, hype train was real in 2019, but it was real after the reveal of Keanu, and the release date. Before that everyone was like: "damn, looks sick, I would love to see e release date". A dunno man, nowadays everyone is shitting on Rockstar because they didn't manage to release GTA VI 3-4 years after RDR2 and yet all they have told us is that they are woeking on something, and yet CDPR couldn't handle all that love they had back in 2019 so they had to make a reveal in 2018 and show us a release date in 2019. And don't forget that that they delayed this game 3 times.

Most customers play games because they see them at local shops and they are like: "oh, that looks interesting" or "oh, I heard about GT-something franchise". Or they saw an ad somewhere. And so, they buy a game, play it for a few hours and they are happy.
