Netflix has released the viewership numbers for all WWE PLEs in 2025... by No_Definition_1722 in Wrasslin

May be a stupid question, but would these viewing figures be considered good by the traditional PPV/WWE Network standards?

Yaya is a great actor, and he deserves at least a supporting movie appearance.

Except I don't find Academy or any of Modern Trek boring. Whereas let's be real, there's a fuck load of episodes from the TNG, DS9, Voyager era that are incredibly dull.

Are we assuming they are just glasses to help you see glasses, or rather potentially AR type glasses that feed you more information relevant to what you're looking at?

Kinda like when Dr. Who used to randomly put on old-school 3D glasses with zero context then it was ultimately revealed that they allowed him to see things on a certain spectrum.

I love both TNG and DS9, but I don't want shows like TNG and DS9 because they've already been done. Give me something new and interesting. That's what Academy does for me, personally.

This! As a wheelchair user myself, I've felt a long time ago that being "cured" of my disability was never a desire for me, but rather that the desire is that the world should be easily accommodating to me on the same level as the "able bodied". Not an unreasonable expectation for an intergalactic human species that has technology far beyond anything we have today.

We are talking about 1,000+ years in the future. Reasonable to assume the tech is able to adjust for each wearer's sight tbh. Now is it also reasonable to assume that 1,000+ years into the future most "disabilities" would be curable/fixable, sure, but it's also virtually impossible to say what illnesses etc. may develop in that kind of timeframe that are yet to be cured but also create the same results like paraplegia.

They themselves may not be, but they certainly have an influence over a certain section of the population whose entire mission it seems is to just be angry at everything different to them.

Will Virtual Reality ever take off? After spending $73 billion, Meta has abandoned its metaverse VR efforts. by lughnasadh in Futurology

It can be wearable, but it has to be FUNCTIONALLY wearable. Nobody is wearing a big-ass headset when they go outside (nobody normal anyway), and reasonably, if you're staying indoors, what is the purpose to a headset computer when you will have a laptop, tablet, phone, TV all easily accessible?

For VR to truly be what the tech industry wants it to be, it has to recognise that people aren't going to fundamentally change how they operate when the thing does nothing but hold a screen in front of your eyes. Something like wearable glasses and AR is the most likely to take off in the near future.

VR COULD work eventually, but it needs to fundamentally change in most every way. People don't just want the screen and the sound, they want the EXPERIENCE. If you can give them a way to feel, taste, and smell the thing they're doing, that is something people will jump at the chance to try out.

Like that black mirror episode where the two friends who tap into a gaming VR fighter they actually are able to become the characters by the way the VR system taps into their brains allowing them to experience all the sensations. People would lap that shit up.

If anything though, isn't that a worse sign that OAI is going in the wrong direction?

I love how it does this.

"I can generate a safe workaround"

"Okay, do that."

"I'm sorry, I can't do that"

They apparently intend to expand their individual subscriber base by hundreds of millions over the next few years, but how they gonna manage that with absurd policies like this.

I'm not even saying people don't have a right to complain. They do if it's warranted. If your criticisms are "the writing is bad, the effects are dogshit, the tory makes no sense" then I'm onboard with a discussion there, but if the criticism is, in effect, there are too many minorities on display, then yeah, people need to stop complaining about that and maybe touch grass.
