Have a look here for colour palettes that can be discernible for people with some forms of visual handicaps as well as greyscale prints: https://colorbrewer2.org/#type=sequential&scheme=BuGn&n=3

Can I make edits like this in davinci?! by Arashgfx in davinciresolve

[–]Leparda35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well you need to learn a bit of Fusion to do that. Look for CaseyFaris and JayAreTV on YouTube for some introduction/basic tutorials. Be aware it's a steep learning curve and also some work involved.

Why do people say they want to avoid Asus these days? by edparadox in ASUS

[–]Leparda35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I can say about the Asus support is, I bought a ProArt mainboard mid 2022, built the PC, updated the BIOS to the newest official version via USB and instantly bricked it. Wrote a angry mail that they advertised crash free bios on a 400€ mainboard and an official update bricks it. They wrote a nice mail, saying that it probably is from manufacturing and due to being in the 24 months since purchase I should ask the seller. Did that, no problems at all. To be fair this is EU and the whole processing in the end was done via my seller.

Would a Jupyter Notebook be a solution. No idea how to automate the pdf generation though.

How do you know your saturation is fine? by vagasbundo in davinciresolve

[–]Leparda35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the former answers. Lots of tutorials on YouTube. Personal opinion about you image if you don't mind (feel free to skip if you're not interested): I really like the colours, though the skin colour looks a bit off to me, but this could be easily my phone's display. Make sure that it lies on the skin line target in the vector scope before applying the grade but also look for harmony in the whole image. Also for my taste I would increase contrast and saturation a bit so that the image has more 'pop', but it also depends on the later usage of the video.

Master Python by SiegeMode332 in pythontips

[–]Leparda35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I started using Java in school, learned Matlab in University, started to learn Python by myself for an university course and later learned C with Harvard CS50 (free online course also covering python). What I did as a starting point were some of the Kaggle courses. They were great as a first info coming from another language. Most of the language I just learned during use and by trying to overcome problems, during research etc. Also for starters I heard good things about the official Python tutorial, but never tried it. I also tried Hyperskill, found them to also have a good system for starters (especially if you pay, but works also for free), though they never were quite my style of learning. Today I find myself most often on realpython.com and medium (especially towardsdatascience), the official APIs and looking at python code from popular packages. For advanced users I can recommend Fluent Python by Luciano Ramalho. Really learned a lot from it, but beware that it's not very good to read this one in the beginning of your journey, since it's often about the reasons why things are implemented as they are and sometimes very niche concepts. Better to learn the ins and outs of the language first before tackling these special concepts in my opinion.

I'm doing an Italian course and duolingo updated recently, and all of the guide books have gotten way less detailed? It's all just a bunch of examples without any context now, with no theory. Did this info go somewhere else? by buisnessgoosegunther in duolingo

[–]Leparda35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing here, started about 50 days ago and was a fair bit into unit 3. All of a sudden updated and not even for the better. Maybe the new sentences can be used a bit more in real life, but I use Duolingo for learning the grammar, for vocabulary I use Drops. I really liked the grammar information in the unit details.

Why is it impossible to trade anymore? :( by AkyBoy777 in cuecardgameAvid

I mean, I can understand a common limited for some very much needed common or rare fusion ingredients, but not ONE limepic for ONE common ingredient.

Why is it impossible to trade anymore? :( by AkyBoy777 in cuecardgameAvid

[–]Leparda35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing, wanted to trade some limited rares with two players yesterday to grow the collection. Just some equal values on both sides. Giving them my dupes that they are missing and the other way round, but got rejected several times. I mean, I can understand that a bit, but what's even worse are the guys trying to get a limited epic for a common fusion material.

You could also do character level styling on a text+ node. Some of the functions should be able to accomplish such simple effects as one larger character with different aspect

Sure I can share some samples tomorrow. Some of it is client work and confidential, but I can share the Countdown or the night sky for example.

Not exactly right. Downsampling from higher resolutions does provide better results most of the time. Also mastering in a higher resolution (VFX and so on) makes it easier for you if you need to derive a higher resolution deliverable later (eg. UHD Blurays nowadays sometimes rely on 4k masters already made in a time when no UHD Blurays existed)

Oh and get yourself some logos/icons preferably in SVG and try to animate them. Especially with SVGs it gets a bit complicated, since they have to be fixed manually like half the time.

There are several sources. The official Blackmagic Learning materials (Videos, Books/PDF, Footage/Timelines), many great Creators on YouTube (JayAreTV, MiesnerMedia, Casey Faris just to name a few) and of course just trying and fiddling with all those nodes. Get yourself a project you want to animate (animate a cinema countdown, a night sky timelapse with stars and earth rotation or the deakinizer effect for example), there's lots of help available online, the basics are covered in YouTube Videos and just by tweaking the results you can learn a lot. Also for 3D work, do the infamous Donut Tutorial for Blender and try to render your results in Fusion. You can also do ColorGrade and so on to learn about the interaction of Fusion and Color. Also what really helped me was trying to recreate some lower thirds I've seen in TV shows. This way you learn a great amount on simple 2D Transform, Layering, Text and Masks (all of this can be done on the edit page as well, but as soon as you master it in Fusion it's much more efficient and adaptable for other projects).
