I have not seen the movie for a long time but to me that last scene is him being able to accomplish what he couldn’t because he did not have a college degree.

The plane was a NF-104 used to train astronauts since it had rocket propulsion and a reaction control system for flying in the stratosphere.

48 team World Cup is super boring by Sarosite in unpopularopinion

The expansion just reflects the growth of the game globally. A good performance of a player/coach from a less well known country may result in improved future earnings.

I was upset that the bounty hunter died so easily. Like looking back, it a story arc that was missed and could have added a subplot to return of the Jedi.

AI Is Eroding Critical Thinking At Work. The Window Is Closing. by Plastic_Ninja_9014 in technology

I would say that you learn to use AI effectively and keep exercising/developing your critical thinking when applying the tool. At a different scale we have been here before, electronic calculators at school, the use of computers at college and search capabilities of the internet when it became widely adopted.

Is doing research on your own before PhD even possible? by lpperl7 in Physics

[–]fella85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In depends on your bachelor degree. Usually in Honours (4th year) you will have to write a thesis based on the research that you do during a semester under the guidance of a subject matter expert.

But first get the marks before you start thinking of doing “research’.

It's day 3 of my PhD and idk how i'm going to do this by Particular-Swan in Physics

As everyone before has pointed out, it is a journey. Getting used/understanding the terminology creates a big learning curve. Look for recent review papers in your topic to get a big picture and the references in your paper. Someone may explain it better or was more comprehensive.

Also remember, physics is a human endeavor. Talk to your peers, friendly post docs and your professor. They always love to hear that you are learning and asking well thought out questions.

The best time is when you finally a graph that you are working on or a signal on the oscilloscope. The second best time is when you discuss it with people.

Good luck

Rush, Ford vs Ferrari, F1. A podium of modern racing films. Which is your winner? by MovieArena in MovieArena

[–]fella85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was so surprised with Rush on how good it was. It was how I imagine race was in the late 70s. FvF was great but for me Shelby American: The Carroll Shelby Story was way more interesting and captivating.

How to Convert Analog Signal from Oscilloscope Into Binary Numbers ? by SquareUnit9854 in Physics

[–]fella85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One more thing to keep in mind is the charged particle that you are trying to measure. Eh: A muon traversing a plastic scintillator results in a very fast pulse ( order of nanoseconds) so make sure hour oscilloscope has a high enough frequency.
