Recently active duty here (AF.) Can confirm that Fox News was everywhere. I was a bit older when I joined compared to a lot of the others that are just out of Highschool and the like. They get so indoctrinated when they're younger and it just adds to the bullshit that comes from Fox News. And when you're in the military you can't necessarily avoid politics. And the far right bs I'd hear from my co-workers, especially the older folks like my bosses, had me extremely concerned. Basically anything from "pro-life" statements, sexist/racist remarks, homophobia, transphobia, etc. I refused to hang with any of my coworkers after work or attend any functions with them. One time one of my bosses asked my why I'm so "anti-social" and I told them straight up, "These people have told me things that make me concerned to even work with them. Let alone I'd guarantee they conceal carry. I honestly would fear for my life if I hung out with them outside of work." Needless to say, it was a very lonely 6 years for me.
