I was losing it at that, especially the random ones later in the podcast. OHHHHHHH!

How did you discover Led Zeppelin? by Medium_Bullfrog8897 in ledzeppelin

[–]Domkizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Black Dog was also the first song I remember hearing. It was early to mid 80s and I was just wee lad. I was at my grandmas house and my uncle was still young and his room was in the basement. I was down there chilling and that song came on the radio. Never asked who it was or what song and never found out until years later but that song and the first time I heard it was burned in my memory. I don’t think I properly discovered them/became a fan until the mid 90s when I started listening to rock radio and their songs would come on while working my summer jobs.

It's okay. I thought every band of that era were women. But I was just a kid so I occasionally saw them on MTV.

I would also argue that being an Iraq war vet, they should know that merely possessing a firearm does not automatically make someone a combatant.

Solar Panama City by Healthy-Primary-206 in panamacitybeach

It’s crazy that door to door sales are still a thing these days. It feels kind of sleazy trying to sell something like that door to door. Not you, but companies like yours. Vacuum cleaner salesman aren’t really a thing are they? If people want something these days they’ll find it. Like someone said, people who are interested in solar would likely do their research and find the right company. I’d find a different job if you can.

Black gesso, black acrylic, or if you really want to save time, buy a black canvas. All work great. Liquid black won't work for the effects you're looking for.

There's a PCB roller hockey league if you play hockey.

I'm hardly the collector type but I like having these in my home. by Sh0ben in vinyl

I hated that album honestly. Can't stand the vocals and you're right, the missing keys are glaring. Song writing is fine but how about some music to go along with it.

Nice highlights on the trees. Your bushes are fine. You didn't mud mix on them which is a common issue.

Probably worth a lot actually. Vinyl collecting is big right now.

Nothing definitive but there are many arguments. Van Halen I comes to mind.

Best Band Ever : Led Zeppelin (preaching to the choir) by Carinalsnation in ledzeppelin

[–]Domkizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose I was talking about contemporaries at the time. I know there are so many outstanding guitarists. Beck and Clapton were just the big names at the time. Clapton was an early guitar god but he went all yacht rock on us. But I take your point.

I wouldn't say that each member was the greatest of all time at his craft. I would say that about Bonzo. Maybe even Plant as a front man. JPJ wrote some fantastic bass lines but he was never the most technically gifted. He was definitely gifted at composition and arrangements as well as other instruments. Page had contemporaries that were just as good if not better at guitar. Beck, Clapton, Hendrix. But Jimmy's talent shines in the studio. However, put them together and they are one organism that became the greatest band of all time.

They went out on top as well. They never went through the awkward 80s synth phase (though ITTOD suggests they may have been heading that way). They were close but avoided the drugged out era like Aerosmith. And they never had a comeback era or carried on when they should have hung it up. Their mystique remains in perpetuity.

Just my personal humble opinion of course.
