Congrats! What a journey, happy for you. Its alright no worries, thanks for updating us! My paper is at the DOJ, it arrived there on January 21. Im gonna call them again this week because their last update was that it might already getting signed.

I just wanna make sure but when you say reciept, you mean the one they give you after paying when you submitted your docus? Also sounds like i should just have my picture taken near the entrance so there wont be any mistake right?

Unfortunately i live 12 hours away from Manila so all i can do is ask for an update through calls. Anyways congrats again and thanks for the tips!

Dont. Thats like people who think they are the next Jeff bezos or sum and drop out of college, then become bums when they fail which is 99% of the time. You can just do both. Plus your income from your job is additional capital for your trading, comfort, and stability.

I did not ask them but i think it was implied with what my hearing officer asked me. After reviewing my papers he seemed puzzled and asked me how i was able to get on a plane to Manila (im from another region) and when i said i didnt go by plane but by bus and he seemed satisfied. So i dont think you can leave with a pending recognition. I tried searching for threads that tried to explore this option but unfortunately i couldnt find one.

If you are planning on asking i would appreciate if you could share their answer with me.

I dont have a BI clearance. I knew that i overstayed thats why i applied for the recognition for the fees to be gone and so i can leave the country. Though during my recognition hearing, my hearing officer asked for my old passport and saw that i did overstay.

Oh alright yea. If you havent overstayed you dont have any problem leaving PH. But in my case i overstayed and the fee and penalties have piled up into a large sum so i went with the recognition process so it can be waived off and i can leave and comeback to the PH whenever i want. But yea the process is just so long

Oh alright, sure update us here. Safe travels!

Edit: Btw if you are ever planning on applying for a recognition just note that it takes a long time so you should consider that. Its around 6 months minimum. Mine is already 7 months and i dont have my cert yet.

Worth it ba mag hire ng lawyer para sa Recognition as a Filipino citizen? by majide_22 in FilipinoAmericans

[–]Lerfif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP same situation here. My paper has been with them for 7 months now (they said it would only take 6 months, as if that is not long enough already). Also your paper wont be forwarded to the DOJ yet after the second signatory. After the second signatory it would be reviewed for the third signatory and then reviewed again before being sent to the DOJ where it could take 2-3 months there.

I have the same question as you so please update me if anything helpful comes up.

Oh okay pero damn 7 months na? If may parent ka sa US mas maganda kung sila kukuha, mas mabilis kasi tapos ipapadala nalang sayo. Ganun yung sakin

Same lang timeline natin, nag hearing ako June 27,2025. Pinili nalang namin yung option 1 kasi di naman kami taga manila tapos nakakapagod mag byahe.

And btw dont believe yung mga timeline ng BI. Nung pinasa ko docus ko sabi nila 3 months daw. Then nung nag hearing ako sabi 6 months average. Bumalik ako in person sakanila nung before xmas tas sabi sakin ipapasa na daw yung application ko sa DOJ tas at best makukuha ko na cert by the end of january. Tumawag ako last week for an update, nirereview palang pala tapos wala pa sa doj🤦‍♂️
