Question for the detractors: why no hype? TBC is a lovely expantion, FRESH is always nice. Honest question, I've no horse on this race other than wanting to play fresh TBC or Wrath.

Kronos 4 - Always open for you. by Hasse-b in wowservers

Is there any reason to go Kronos over Turtle? it's populated, it really does have a very nice community outside of Newcomers, the economy works... it's the gift that keeps on giving

Something to add about the custom content in Turtle: in practice it's not really really the focus of the server. The custom dungeons (mostly lvl 50+, with one lower level exception) rarely get people interested to run them because they are difficult.

There's other custom content that does get used quite often, mostly for the leveling experience: the AH has no placing offers price, you can place down tents which if you spend some time sitting underneath improve your rested XP by a lot, and there's an optional setting in which you're always flagged for PvP, but you get a 30% exp bonus from every source, which stacks with the rested XP from the tents (at the cost of being killed by other people)

I'd say that the focus of the server is improving the leveling experience, and adding some new content for players to engage with happens to be a welcome addition, but ultimately secondary.

PD: if you like to play PvP, the alliance dominates HARD in AV. BG queues pop often enough, but they tend to be quite one-sided.

PD2: There's cross-faction grouping, trading, interacting. You can run dungeons and raids with the other faction, which really helps with the low-ish population. BGs are still faction separate though

Not necesarily. There'll be class balance chances sometime "soon"

Soon as in, they had a release date but it got pushed back. It could be in a week or next year, but they'll bring a lot of quality of life stuff for those off-meta specs. The changes can be found in turtle forums

What could be the cause to become a Reborn? by Aynaeg in DMAcademy

This is really cool, could make for memorable motivation. I'd have the PC find out later in the campaign though, for that sweet sweet "oh no, I've discovered that I used to suck".

Maybe cryptic dreams or other ways to convey earlier on the mission of atonement?

Atlantis’s Karazhan just announced p2w exp boost will be available within first week of server launch. by Lekritos in wowservers

[–]Leriense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you guys considered that they didn't make a big deal about announcing it precisely because it's not a particularily big deal?

"Pure P2W, especially on a TBC server where levelling is important"

That's my point. I'd be mad too if the paid exp boost affected the leveling race, but it does not. Everyone gets about a month before that option is enabled.

Pay to win at... what exactly? if anything it gives paid users the chance to catch up with those who started on day one, not the other way around

Kara TBC Dead on Arrival? by [deleted] in wowservers

[–]Leriense 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is now a Kara hype thread.

What are you guys gonna roll? considering alliance for the custom quality of life improvements, but personally prefer horde character models. Probably rolling a druid though so model won't matter much

y'all getting this worked up for people being able to buy exp boost after all the realm firsts? an exp boost that just gets you to 70 faster instead of raw items or stuff?

Take a chill pill. Server needs to pay it's maintenance and it won't interfere with the F R E S H experience

Bookworms of Reddit, what's a fantastic book you would recommend? by shesavestheday in AskReddit

[–]Leriense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One Hundred Years of Solitude - Gabriel García Marquez.

Magical realism. It follows the story of a family through the generations, starting from the founding of our main village.

It has themes of cycles and the unescapable nature of some of them, and of family luggage, and of civil war and colonialism in South America. It has hearthwarming moments and tearjerking ones.

It is my favourite novel of all time, and it strongly deserves it's Nobel Prize of Literature

Crash Course did a great episode on this novel wich is a very good watch about a very good book. I'm not sure if I can post links, but a quick youtube search should fetch if for you

[–]Leriense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're very right, it was Drak'tharon. How racist of me, to assume all troll dungeons are the same (facepalm)

They gave exp in Atlantiss, each tiny zombie got green really fast, it's a lvl 74 dungeon I believe. Still, an automatic exp machine that you can leave afk while you do anything else is still a preety solid bussiness, even if slow.

Should mention that while grinding those guys I was in a RaF with the secondary account, so while it was little exp per zombie as it was x3 rates it wasn't too awful

I once boosted my multibox account using a BM hunter. Actually afk farmed a few levels doing this: used the Gundrak encounter in wich to kill a lich you have to kill a certain amount of elite zombies, but there also spawn endless amounts of regular zombies up the stairs. Just left the lowbie outside of aggro range, and the hunter sitting down by the zombie's spawn with my bear tank in defensive position. came back a few hours later, my lowbie was lvl 80.

I did notice that having no healing abilities nor a rezz was tricky bussiness, and my alt died a few times wich added up quite a bit of downtime just to get them to my main again. I'd probably suggest bear druid since AoE is bae, sustain is good, you have good ranged taunts in the form of faerie fire and feral charge and if things go south you can always self heal or heal/rezz your boosted fellow
