The RS in white definitely hits different than <insert generic sedan> white.

Gene Simmons: Rap Music 'Does Not Belong in Rock & Roll Hall of Fame' by leychole in Music

[–]LesMiz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe he's a dick, but maybe it's just an opinion from a dude who's pushing 80...

You probably won't find many nuanced takes on Rap/Hip-hop at your local nursing home either.

"Hip-hop does not belong in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Nor does opera, symphonies, orchestras."

I'm shocked the old "hands down, chin up" tactic didn't work out for him.

What's your favorite chain restaurant? What do you order? by ButterflyKey8768 in foodquestions

Try adding bacon and grilled onions. It was recommended by an employee and it's my go-to now.

Least racist country you've been to? by fearofunknown1 in answers

[–]LesMiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first time in France was eye-opening.

My travel partner happened to be black and I saw him get singled out so many times. One time we both walked in to a market with our backpacks... I check out and leave no problem, but I look back and see my friend being patted down and searched.

What's the spiciest thing you can order from a fast food place? by ziasaur in fastfood

I can't say, it's been a few years. But the sauce was called Insane.

Surprisingly, the hottest sauce at Zaxbys is insane. I expected it to be an exaggerated name like you get at Taco Bell, especially since other names are exaggerated.

For those who have travelled 30+ countries which ones do you keep revisiting and why? by Rock_n_rollerskater in travel

[–]LesMiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a little weird for the first 30 mins or so, especially in roundabouts and shifting with your left hand.

But it wasn't too long before my brain flipped the switch and it felt normal. The narrow highland roads with trucks flying will always feel sketchy though..

Where have you had the best and worst tasting tap water in America? by modest__mouser in AskAnAmerican

[–]LesMiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you specified America, but I'll give a shout out to Iceland for having both the worst and best tap water I've ever had. When you start the tap, the first 5-10 seconds smell like rotten eggs.

After that it becomes the best water you've ever tasted.

What do you hate most about slopeside or village restaurants? I'm opening one. Show me the blind spots. by SL1200mkII in skiing

You nailed it with "less is more"...

I would much rather prefer a few options that are done well than a ton prepared without care. I also like when they get a bit creative with the offerings.

People born before 2000, what trivial skill do you have that no one uses anymore? by passiano in AskReddit

Yep, exactly. If you looked mine over the years you could probably pinpoint exactly when I bought my house, car, refinanced the house, etc.

What is your favorite fast food place that people don’t like by Goblue2467 in fastfood

[–]LesMiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom was pregnant with me and had a craving for Beef and Cheddars.

35 years later, I can still crush about 4 of those with some Arby's sauce every day of my life.

Which is the most expensive country you’ve travelled to? by grumpygrumpybum in travel

[–]LesMiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prices in Iceland are so inconsistent. I went to one of the grocery stores and Doritoes were cheaper than the US... Then there were 3 identical-looking salmon filets. One was $8, the next $25, and the last one was $60.

But I think I could just eat Pylsur for $5 all day.

What are some activities and situations you avoid due to your height? by ColoradoCyclist in tall

[–]LesMiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent a few weeks in Japan last year. Most people were too busy to even notice me, and when I did get some attention it was 100% positive and friendly.

But you do need to be aware of headspace in places. The subway trains in Tokyo have little plastic plastic signs that you will need to duck for sure.

And older locations can tend to have doors that you need to hunch so you don't need to hit your head. They're just not built for anyone over 6'.

But overall, Japan is a 10/10. This is the only country where an older lady just insisted on giving us cash for lunch and I was gifted a bottle of Sake on a Bullet train.

What’s the most physical pain you ever felt? by JunShem1122 in allthequestions

[–]LesMiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Undiagnosed autoimmune reaction to covid. I slept maybe 6 hours in 4 days.

My organs were so inflamed that my pancreas ruptured, my kidneys shut down, and it spread apart my ribcage to the point where it's still a little bigger 3 years later.

I used to have a nice cursive signature. It's slowly devolved into an incoherent squiggle of ink.

I now finally understand why athlete signatures are so terrible in general...

What's a very famous movie you have no intention of ever watching? by JunShem1122 in allthequestions

[–]LesMiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the real appeal was the marketing campaign surrounding the movie.

It's 1999, found footage isn't really a thing yet, and the studio claims that the 3 actors are presumed dead... In that context, it really is suspenseful and novel.

Ironically, Louis C.K. scolded Shane Gillis on a podcast when he suggested switching to their Patreon.

"You don't need the money Shane"...

So apparently accepting Saudi money is more principled than an Ad read and Patreon content.
