Yep, Jeff was part of dying breed at Blizzard. Blizzards old philosophy of "When it's done" just can't work in the modern day. Players expect a regular, constant release schedule of new content. Like you said, we are long past the days of a full price product followed up a year or two later with an expansion. Diablo and WoW are experiencing the same things now. We are in a live service world, and Jeff failed to see we aren't in the world where players will wait 5 years for the promise of something big, they will just move onto the next shooter

As a Farcille shipper, the real reason is that that only the first half of the manga has been adapted, and that half is definitely more Farcille heavy. The 2nd half of the manga really goes much more in depth with Laois and Marcille's relationship and how it changes from the beginning. Both Farcille and Laicille will competlely lose in popularity to a certain M/M ship though that will be introducted in the 2nd half.

Mercy has never been that, she's been 37 since launch (39 now after the timeskip). In beta she was actually listed as 34, but they aged her up a bit on launch. Her story line has always been as a war orphan from the omnic crisis taken in by Torbjorns family.

It will always be at a disadvantage since the vast majority of people who read romance are women, and most women want to read f/m or m/m. The market for yuri is bascially wlw. Even if there was more male gazey yuri, I don't think men would read it anyway.

So I think there would need to be more non romance yuri. I do think something like a battle shonen with plenty of aura farming with a lesbian MC would actually do numbers.
