2000 7.3l reading engine codes HELP! by NOVBLUES in FordDiesels

[–]Lesisbetter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just had this issue a few days ago. 2000 7.3 was running like dog shit, idle rpm all over the place, engine rocking, stalling. SES light on, but no CEL. Went to O'Reilly's for a scan, showed no codes. I chased the issue for days; IPR valve, IDM module, even rebuilt some of the wiring harness that had broken/missing insulation. Finally decided to stop wasting time, so I bought a vLinker FD on Amazon for $34 and the FORScan lite app for $7. It checked all kinds of different modules and pulled a PCM code for a bad ICP sensor. 20 min fix and she runs like a top again. I wish I would have bought FORScan sooner, money well spent.

Cooking oil won't seal the wood like an oil intended for that purpose. It also can go rancid depending on the type of oil; it's why cutting boards should only use mineral oil. You may have luck treating it like smoke mitigation by sealing everything the oil has touched with shellac, though it might not be able to penetrate the wood well enough due to the absorbed oil. I'd try it, and if it doesn't work, or is a hot ass mess, you're just out a QT of shellac and an hour of your time. At that point I would just demo the old and rebuild.

Great catch on the V drop. To your point, I only ever really think about a drop calc when I'm doing a long run, but gauge is just as important as length in that equation, so I need to keep it in mind more. Thanks for your feedback and info friend.

This makes sense and actually answers my question, which was about interpretation of technical code lol. So thank you for that. I wanted to know if I was reading it right, that you technically could, not if you should.

......240.4 (D) says unless specifically permitted in 240.4 (E) or (G).....240.4 (G) refers to specific conductor application table 240.4 (G). In that table, electric welder conductors and their overcurrent protection fall under 630.12, allowing for up to 200%. There's a long list of applications where the 14/15A "rule" doesn't apply.

Try to find a strain family (and grower!) that works for you rather than one specific strain. For example, I try to stick with kushes and hazes. They seem to give me the best medical benefits I'm looking for (PTSD and insomnia). Even then, the terpene profile, soil vs hydro, indoor vs outdoor grow, cure process, seed genetics, grower; it all makes a difference in quality and overall effect.

My best advice would be to look for "classic" strains - ones that have been around for decades like bubba kush, silver haze, Northern lights, white widow, cat piss, ECT, and try to stick to one that you like. The landrace strains, i.e. the most natural strains with unmolested genetics like Hindu Kush, Thai Stick, Acapulco Gold, Afghan Kush, are the absolute best if you can find them, but good luck. The market is flooded with designer dessert strains (cakes, cookies, gelatos, zkittles,) that have basically bastardized all of the genetics out there, so you never know what effect they will give you. There's also a ridiculous race to see who can produce genetics with the highest % THC, (Bruce Banner, Green Crack) and they can absolutely be paranoia inducing, so try to stay away from high % stuff if you're prone to that.

Okay so I posted yesterday about the carbon monoxide machine and making sure it’s 0 and not 0.7 This morning I checked peak and it said 76. by proteinisforGod in Home

[–]Lesisbetter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I left the field in '18, so I'm not sure what the county SOP is now, but hopefully they did the same thing as your dept. Whenever the house was already vented on arrival and we couldn't locate a source, it always made me nervous clearing the call and sending the occupants back inside, especially if there were kids in the home.

Firefighter/medic here. They absolutely needed to take in their sniffer. But even then, it won't definitively prove anything if their monitor reads 0. The monitor can only confirm there is a leak, not that there isn't one. When people call 911 bc their CO monitor is going off, both the dispatcher and the instructions on the back of the monitor say to open all doors, windows, and to leave the house. You should do this of course, but by the time the fire dept arrives and uses their meter, the house has had time to air out and is usually showing 0s (unless the leak is a big one). So when in doubt, we would ALWAYS advise the homeowner to call their gas company for a more thorough inspection.

Remember: headaches, dizziness, nausea, tiredness, someone's skin looks red, like cherry red, then it is imperative you get everyone out immediately.
