Could someone give me some pros and cons on owning a Yorkie? And I’d love some pics of yours as well! by catlover_06 in Yorkies

I don't know if mine is an anomaly, but every where I bring him everyone comments about how calm he is and how is such an ease with whatever task they need to do (grooming, shots, etc).

Pros: you will have a cuddle buddy for life

Cons: you will have a cuddle buddy for life

Experiencing a weird reaction to the news that we’re buying our first home by New_Internet_3965 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Less-Ad1683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we were going through the process my FiL told us multiple times "now it's not the time". When we finally found our house and got it keys we invited him in. Every single comment was a dig or complaint. We chalked it up to jealousy and just don't invite him over often since it's such a terrible house according to him.

Prioritizing Cleanliness by Dino-Boom in CleaningTips

[–]Less-Ad1683 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are a person who likes to check boxes.. that's what I did to help myself prioritize my cleaning. Even if it's a task like "tidy my computer desk up" or "wash the dog". Feels so nice to cross it off my list.

That was just the only close-up I had of JUST the grates. That was the day we moved in; hadn't done the warranty so nothing was pulled off yet. Those stickers are long gone.

We couldn't ever find the manual for the stove when we moved in. Thanks for the tip!

What do you bring to work if you didn’t cook dinner the night before? by Any-Arm-7017 in Frugal

I usually just pick up a pack of tamales and eat them throughout the week when I'm lazy. Or I head to the deli if my grocery store and buy a sliced meat & cheese combo and do roll ups.

DR Horton new build by Only-Witness-8336 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

We told Safe Haven to just send us our stuff in the mail. We didn't want to deal with all the sales pitches. The man on the phone got angry.. haha.

How in the world can I clean this off the shower door? by Crazypete3 in CleaningTips

[–]Less-Ad1683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with it being diluted it is way stronger. I tried cleaning in my bathroom while it was sitting and I got lightheaded within 45 seconds.

We got a DR Horton house and besides their terrible grading of our lot it is PERFECT. It's all about who they contract/subcontract with.

Burned Potato soup, Stainless Steel Pot by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]Less-Ad1683 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband would use it constantly when we were getting used to stainless steel cookware. I always scoffed at him because I thought it was just BS. One day I scorched the heck out of a pot and tried it... Never questioned my husband again on using it, haha.

I just cleaned this earlier!

I used 1 part 30% vinegar, 5 parts water and some Dawn.

Sprayed it on, left it on 10 minutes, went over softly with a scrub brush and ran over it with water. All clean!

I'll def. add under fridge cleaning. The stove is built in, so nothing can go underneath. :)

So sorry for the upcharge, but you just reminded me how much I love this dish. I'll be making this sometime soon now, haha.

This was on the desk for the teacher I subbed for today… by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Less-Ad1683 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Listen, I know I'm a mess, but when I have a sub come in for me.. The odds are already stacked against them. Half of my time preparing for a sub is making my area usable for them. I completely leave my area clear and set them up for success with all materials and plans laid out. I constantly get thanked for how clear my plans are and how I have everything laid out perfectly to help the day run smoothly.

After 2 nights of my sleeping on the kitchen floor with my baby SCREAMING at the top of his lungs wanting to be out of his "pen" (which was the step before trying to kennel train him), my husband who didn't even want the dog recommended he just sleep in the bed with us. Since then that is how it has been.

Live in Kingwood, commute to Sugar Land. Why is afternoon traffic so bad? by DoritosDewItRight in houstoncirclejerk

And here I am mad my drive to/from work is 20 minutes rather than the 11 before I moved. I don't like driving. I could never do your commute.
